I haven't been here in the warmer weather yet but it's lovely when it's all lit up for the holidays. Right by the water with amazing views!
This park has a small but beautiful garden that you can walk through. Check it out in early spring.
Take your bike (or rent BlueBike) and go from Jamaica Plain all the way to Mass Ave, Newbury Street, Esplanade, and North End. Excellent!
Make sure you bike on the bike path and walk on the pedestrian path.

A pleasant park with a decent playground and good open lawn space, just over the Charles River Dam from Boston proper.
Lots of hidden playgrounds and pretty gardens. Awesome view of the Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge.
Since this is basically a dog park, bring the pup here after dark and enjoy the stadium style lights!
