Quite possibly my favorite Brooklyn bar. Bocce courts on the top floor, decorated like a library, concert/dance parties in the basement, and weather permitting an outdoors area.
bocce and beers, but gets a bit brotastic on the weekend. they have great music in the basement and the burger with fig spread is delicious.

Miss the Italian beefs, but still has all the charm of your uncle's Midwestern basement bar. Being Chicago-raised, you won't find a better hole in the wall, better bartenders or better vibe in NYC.

Tried 4 cocktails; each tastes like fruit punch sangria (creative license?). Even the old fashioned was over sweetened and grainy. Basement is a cool space but the drinks are definitely sub par.

Formerly on the cutting edge, in the early years of NYC specialty coffee, serving single origin Stumptown beans, Variety is reinventing itself with its own Bushwick roastery and cafe.
Free wifi, cool baristas, yummy pastries (the almond croissant and the chocolate chip banana bread rock), and decently priced compared to some of the other "hipster" coffee shops in the hood.
