Excellent view from the top of the castle. Try and get on a guided tour they are free and help you understand a lot about the castle and Edignburgh.
Touring the castle is very interesting and well worth the money! However, there is no student discount at this time, unfortunately.
A great self guided audio tour. A tight squeeze in some spots (stairs) but worth the effort. The abbey and the gardens are nice as well.

Beautiful palace and the Queen's official residence in the summer. The audio tour is amazing as it goes into the details of every room. Many cool original artifacts in here, like Mary of Scott's bed!
We had a great tour guide/ chamber maid. (Katie/Agnus) it is a great look into life in Edinburgh 400 years ago.
I highly recommend you take this tour, to learn the history of Edinburgh's past and to immerse yourself in Edinburgh's historic and abandoned underground.

Liz was excellent on the late night 'Hidden and haunted' tour, very atmospheric and great stories. I'd have liked it to be longer!
Get on Emily's tour. She's awesome.
The most exciting part of a ghost tour is the final 15 minutes that you can see vaults. Remaining is some stories at closes that you can already see without a tour.

A perfect way to learn to know a new town. €22 for three different tours was really worth the price. Try to go to The Shore area.
Of the three city tours, the green buses have live guides for a much more interesting tour and a chance to ask questions.

This is place where Timberbush tours are leaving. If you haven't done it. It's a must! You can visit highlands, locks and many more with timerbush. Highly recommend.
Good food and Scottish ales on cask. The ploughman's lunch was very good and the Scotch egg sandwich is a beauty.

The flavour journey tour was excellent - well worth the money. Go to the 1820 rooftop bar afterwards - a cool cocktail bar with an outdoor terrace and great views.
