Go at around 3pm and linger until 4pm when the Abbey Choir practices. You can listen to them in the Nave. Self guided audio tour is free and an excellent way to explore the Abbey and learn the history
You simply must get the audio tour. Wandering around the Abbey w/o it simply leaves you incomplete.

u must do a tour of Buckingham Palace state rooms, gallery, gardens a royal mews!! it's such a surreal feeling quiet emotional as you are walking on and learning about UK monarchy history!! Brilliant
Take a walking tour with a guide, who can best explain everything. Otherwise you'll have to show up 1.5 hours out to watch a ceremony you won't understand anyway.
Buckingham Palace is well worth the guided tour. Also, don’t miss the changing of the guard which takes place daily at 11:30AM. Get there early to ensure you have a good view.

An art museum on Trafalgar Square, definitely take one of the free guided tours at 11:30AM or 2:30PM. Get there via Charing Cross stop on the Bakerloo or Northern lines.

Excellent tour, great use of a portable projector showing mortuary pictures, police pictures and how buildings were at time. V interesting and enjoyable 2 hours seeing back streets of London.

Excellent informative tour. I wasn't expecting much, but surprisingly enjoyed it and learnt something from it. Well worth the two hours wandering the back streets, even if it was a chilly evening.

Gardens; stray far from palace for a quiet picnic. Get the audio tour. Wear a cape! Excellent play acting, not cringe worthy. Get a year pass if you live close for summer outings for all 5 palaces.

London Transport Museum will take you on a guided tour Thurs-Sun on only 4 weekends a year. It's pricey but it's worth it!

Try their different tours other than the Grand Tour. Went on a special Behind the Scenes tour and got to look at the bowels of the RAH. Guide Christie was wonderful and accommodating.

The audio tour was absolutely worth it. You get to see where Prince George was baptized and where the royal couples got their wedding photos taken.
If here on a tour, it makes sense to retain your ticket for a free 1-year re-entry. There is a different exhibition every year. The palace itself is also very interesting and can spend 2 hours there
