Harpa Conference & Concert Center • Visit the place for the architecture, nice views over the harbour. You can find there a 12 Tónar music shop.

Great place for whale watching. Just be sure to avoid restaurants that serve whale in town - it's not an authentic local dish, just recently adopted to cater to tourists. Read more.

the fish stew is insanely rich and more like a chowder, but so delicious. and the fish soup is a thinner cream broth.
Didn’t eat here but visited Danish-Icelandic architect Ólafur Eliasson‘s studio. You don’t just get to see some nice works of his but also have a view across the harbour towards Harpa.
Definitely one off the finest the restaurants in Reykjavík (prices not too extortionate). By the harbour, out in the fish packing district, a nice walk from the city centre. If windy/rainy, get a cab.

Sit facing the street at the 1st or 2nd table when you enter restaurant, there's a view of harbor. Perfect for fueling up before museum visits.

If you pay for one of the three museums that belong to Reykjavík Art Museum entrance to the others are included in the price so make good use of your ticket.

Lobster Soup is delicious and also the Cod/Bacalao. It was listed as a caption in New York Times. It is a temporary wooden shack in nice atmosphere of the Reykjavik Harbour.
Don't miss the lobster soup. Yummy grilled fish skewers especially blue ling,catfish , and char. Order and grab a seat on the picnic tables outside. By the harbor
The lobster soup is world class good and the minke whale (as well as horse and fish) served on sticks is just over the top — and illegal in many countries. Cosy, quaint ... and plastic cutlery only.
