very nice park to walk around in. Lots of dogs and very nice people.
Rent a bike or tandem for 200 yen and take the 1.8km course around the park. Even better in cherry blossom season.

広大な公園。レストラン、トイレ、自販機完備。
東京都内有数の水郷公園。春は桜、秋は紅葉、広大な敷地で爽やかな森林浴を堪能出来ます。野鳥も沢山生息してますね。
バーベキュー出来たけどその横のアスレチック！大人になった今、全部クリヤー出来るのか試してみたい！とても懐かしの場所。桜土手は舗装されて本当に綺麗になった！昔は崖だったりしたところを無理やり登って公園に入ってた。
10月。台風の過ぎ去った公園には銀杏がたくさん落ちている。
公園の入り口あたり（駅に近いほう）は微妙。おすすめは公園のもう少し奥のほう！広いし、芝生になってるし、木がきれい。桜時期は最高！

Sometimes the park can be very busy and the entrances become jammed. Walk for 10-15 mins from Nishitachikawa station to the Akishima gate and you'll go straight through as there's no car park there.

My favorite park to relax on off days. The largest park in Tokyo has vast lawn fields facing Tokyo Bay, a bird sanctuary, an aquarium, an Ferris wheel and BBQ space. Cannot miss gorgeous sunset!
There is the most highest Ferris wheel in Japan at this park.
Hikarigaika Park is quite big and Great for jogging, cycling, dogs running and loud children:-) dozens of block of flats around so as quite shopping places and restaurants incl Subway.
一周3.1kmのランニングコースはペース走や距離走に最適。日陰のクロカンコースもあるし、トイレや水飲み場も多く、走るには凄くいい公園だと思う。お昼以降は混雑するから早朝か午前中の早い時間帯が空いてて走りやすい。
Big big nice park.
A beautiful clean park with trimmed hedges and trees, there's not many flowers though. The grass is a bit hard when you sit on it without a picnic mat. Check out the green house too!

Awesome Park I had ever seen in the world
This park seems super popular for kids. Also a nice place to go for a walk wit a cup of coffee in hand. There are a few nice coffee shops nearby. The park also has some trains on display for kids
玉川上水沿いに位置した、面積77haの広大な公園です。この公園は広々とした草地、それを取り巻く雑木林、桜の園、子どもの広場、弓道場、SL（C57）展示、16面のテニスコートと内容豊かな公園です。この公園の前身は、昭和15年の紀元2600年記念事業で計画された小金井大緑地です。戦後、東宮仮寓所に使用され、また農地解放により4割を失いましたが、昭和29年に都市公園として開園しました。(HP引用)

Get a table outside around 6:30 pm so you can enjoy the view of the park and the lights of the fountains when is not too dark.
