InterContinental Manila, though the oldest hotel is one of those which has preserved its standards and amenities. Very nice swimming pool and lobby.

10-15 min cab ride to Greenbelt upscale shopping distrct. Greenbelt 1 has a theater, Greenbelt 5 has a nice varaiety of infant/baby/maternty store...and Loui Vuitton :)

Check out Bahia room if grand ballroom is too big. Minimum commitment rate per pax is much smaller and the room offers a great view of Makati City. My SoftDev Conference (Feb2010) went well there!

Don't pay for the internet. It costs 500 per hour. Go to settings and press "intercontinental wifi". Then something shows after. Press "conference" then, there you have! A wifi!

Don't bother with breakfast at the Club Lounge on the 14th floor. The food at the restaurant on the ground floor is much better and breakfast is made to order.
