Domestic terminal: skip Mugg and Bean or Wimpys after security. Go downstairs to the Mugg and Bean by the C gates to get fast takeaway food and coffee. (Easy to get back upstairs to A gates)
Good signage, cleanairport, washrooms a little dodgy on the arrivals side. Good food choices, smoking lounges on the airside. Use Uber from the airport, saves you some money.
Don't even waste your time anywhere else - best coffee in the house belongs to Woolworths Café on ground floor of Terminal Building. Be sure to get it before you go through airport security.
Blue sky, sun and wild animals are what attracts most visitors to South Africa. But who travels to Cape Town discovers more with the Lufthansa Travel Guide. Read more
Welcome to Cape Town! Home to the #1 ice cream in the world: “Unframed Ice Cream” with multiple locations serving amazing vegan, dairy, & sorbet across the city!
Free wifi (complimentary access) on all main airport and terminals. Parking is expensive, but they have this fair option of pick up and go that gives you 30 min free parking. Clean, wellorganized
Free airport wife is actually great! The guys outside yelling "uber" are really taxi drivers...they will calculate the uber fare then give you a discount....really friendly chaps.
After landing.. Just stay seated and enjoy your book and be the last one to leave the plane. Otherwise you'll be in every queue 3 times. Relax and be the chilled one :-)
Security can be a bit slow, so get through early. There is a long walk from arrivals to the door. There is a curtesy cart but often parked, so prepare your elderly family.
Doing a domestic flight? Make your way towards gate A11and sit either in the Alba Easy Lounge or just outside it. Connect to their wifi, fill out the form you get then BOOM! Free Internet access :)
Really beautiful airport. Beware the cabs here are rip-offs and super expensive. They charge by the km and totally bothersome/hassle. Get a car rental instead if you're planning on driving.
Met this porter outside. He was extra friendly. Dude helped me check in at the business classline and as a business class passenger. I think that's having too much leverage for a porter!
Route through there at least 10 times a month. Park in the far parkade, it's just easier. Drop and go is a nightmare now for those collecting you. Still the stupidest long walk airport for Domestic.
Booking ref handy!use self-service kiosk. Pick ur own seat&print ur boardingpass . Drop ur bag at 'BAG DROPPING' at ur relevant airline.Whilst everyone is still q'ing, u can relax before ur flight
Small, it doesn't looks like an international airport but is nice, all possible stores inside. When you exit airport you find immediately the bus stop to go to city center. Drop off at second floor.
When in the Cape Town airport, get free Wi-Fi in the food court at Barcelos. Ask the manager on duty for the password. They're always gracious. - Muneeb Galant
It's pointless arriving too early to check in to your flight. They won't accept bags until 2 hours before departure. He says as he enjoys the bad coffee of the masses at Wimpy.
Easiest way from Cape Town to airport is the MyCitibus service at R50/trip. MUCH easier than organizing transport/lifts/taxi and the excessive parking prices
