Stay to the right while standing on escalators to let people pass on the left

Take the stairs; its good for you, and usually faster, depending on your athleticism.

If taking NJ transit or LIRR, try to use the 8th avenue side by Amtrak. The lines to get on the train are shorter and there is more room to breathe. You might even get a better seat on the train.

Go inside your own soul and find true horror. Reward yourself with a can of Sprite.

Welcome to Penn Station! Don't forget to check in to Foursquare from the train as well. Trains, buses, planes, & boats are all valid Foursquare venues that you can become the mayor of!

Just keep in mind that this (commuting thing) sucks equally for everyone. Try to ignore the drunk sport-tards, guidos, and treat the homeless people and faux armed guards with courtesy.

Avoid the crowd - use the stairway near the 31st and 8th exit to quickly board an NJ Transit train.
