Wonderful museum of natural sciences.Love it, apart from the screaming kids. This pay-as-u-wish museum does try to explain serious science in simple terms. Don't miss the latest dino - The Titanosaur!
Great for families and learning..so much to see, go to 4th for dinos and 1st for marine life and the big whale. Prob can't do whole museum in a day. Pay what you wish
Feel like a kid again as you’re dwarfed by the T-Rex and the Blue Whale or just surrounded magically by butterflies. It’s entertaining and educational. Use the side entrance to cut the line.
This place is highly recommended for every one u can spend like 5 hours and not finish it, just make sure your ticket includes the i max show of national parks and the show of dark universe
This place is unbelievable!! Fun for all ages & a must see with all of the huge and amazing displays. (Also, the movie "A Night At the Museum" was filmed here.)
This place has it all: dinosaurs, a planetarium, taxidermy creatures from land and sea, fantastic gift shops, and a café that serves adorable planet-shaped cookies. - Green Guide Editor
Great place to spend half of even the whole day! Exhibitions cover everything about natural history. I particularly enjoyed the sections on different types of peoples, and also the dinosaurs!
Great educationalmuseum. This museum is the Night at the Museummovies. And at Christmas time, they have a beautiful origami tree out. A lot of things to see beyond dinosaurs, animals and people
Incredible experience. The dinosaurs, blue whale and the elephants will take your breath away! Everyone should visit this place. End of story. Buy ticket from the machine at the hall and save time.
Bring the kids, forget the time❤️ absolutely fun and well managed, both children and adults will have a splendid time. You'll step out full of knowledge, it'll freak you.
It was a really incredible experience to see the unknown in the AMNH. Loved the Dino exhibit and the prehistoric times. A bit of advice: Don't go when it's super crowded! 😋
It's huuuuge. Gonna spend some time in here, but still everything is pretty much amazing. Worth visiting and choosing it on those 3 o 5 deal packages. City pass
You have to pay FULL admission + additions to see any special exhibition now. It used to be you can pay whatever you want plus 9$ per special exhibition. The current way is a bit mean imo
Skip the line. While outside the main entrance, go to either side of the stairs and follow the ramp down to buy tix from the machine and enter right away!
The American Museum of Natural History is huge, so make sure that you have enough time to visit. If you only have a few hours, I would recommend seeing the African Mammals and the Birds of the World.
Absolutely one day not enough to this huge museum, but we have 6 hours here😊 Do not came day after trip to The Met, take a day off between two museums but it worth it, words can't describe it👍🏻👌🏻
Some of the 5 million visitors of the natural history museum each year pass right by the fossil of Hypacrosaurus altispinus, which, at 20in long and 8in high, is the tiniest dinosaur at the museum. Read more
A New York City must see. If you're going on a Saturday afternoon either buy tickets ahead of time or use the kiosks around the perimeter of the entrance.
Don’t miss the 94-foot model of a female blue whale suspended from the ceiling of the Hall of Ocean Life, the replica of the Barosaurus or the planet renderings in the Rose Center for Earth and Space.
This place is huge! Love the gem collection on the first floor and the dinosaurs! Prices are suggested so if you are low on funds don't fret you can still donate what you can!
The Journey to the Stars Exhibit is a wonderful and worth the extra money. My 8 and 9 year old sons loved it! The entire museum is incredible. The dinosaur exhibit was a favorite.
Everything is great here ! Get here early in the day though b/c they close @ 5 ! We got there around 11 AM and that was still not enough time to see everything !!
Dedicate half a day here. Come at 10am for opening and don't leave until 5.45pm when they close. You still won't be able to see everything. Also, pay the $25.50 to see all the special exhibits.
One of the worlds preeminent museums, with dinosaurs, meteors, and a couple of animals actually killed by Teddy Roosevelt. The planetarium is among the best & Central Park is across the street!
A rainy Sunday is probably not the best day to go, super crowded but absolutely worth the visit. Amazing museum. Download the app inside the museum to purchase your ticket and Easley be guided around.
Take the free guided highlights tour which meets outside the Akeley Hall of African Mammals at 15 minutes past the hour. Really worthwhile... the guides are great. Thanks so much to our guide Sue!
This place is amazing! You need at least 1.5 days to see it all! It is a very interesting, beautiful and funny place for everyone! The museum is a MUST if you are visiting NY!!
Whether you're a kid or a kid at heart this place is wondrous! Take your time & plan to take at least a couple hours! Don't skip the planetarium experience; it is tons of educational, adventurous fun!
This place is huge. Take one of the floor maps for sure. Personal favorites are the real dinosaur fossils and the special exhibitions that change. Oh and of course the planetarium.
Perfect to go to when it‘s raining or freezing cold - takes you hours to really see everything but it‘s worth it. Makes you feel like you‘re a part of the movie :-)
The entire museum is a must see. I was elated to have wifi, since my husband was able to have a virtual tour of the museum at the same time. It was fantastic.
A great museum to see all kinds of history around the world. I recommend this more for families but an adult could spend a few hours here as well. There are 4 floors so plan your time wisely.
Last year, to add more realism to the Hall of North American Mammals, curators added actual pronghorn freeze-dried doo-doo collected by park rangers at the real-life Elkhorn Ranch in Montana. Read more
Do the highlights tour! We went with a sweet older lady guide and she was fantastic! Wish I knew her name to write the museum a praise letter! The otherwise intimidating museum become fun and exciting

Awesome. The best on the planet for what it does and displays. Book some of the special exhibits. Start in the dinosaur wing. Ito avoid queues at main entrance, use the planetarium entry.
Feel like a kid again and look up at the stars, or the giant whale, or the giant T-Rex. Fall in love with all of the exhibits and go through time. Best way to enter is through the side entrance!
So eyes-catching museums. Love this place and will come again and again because it is too big and I’m sure it will take at least few days to look around.
Given the number of stairs in this place, consider taking the elevators up to the fourth floor and then touring the museum from the top down. Your feet will appreciate it.
this is my most favoritest place in NYC since i was a little kid. check out their special programs: SciCafe, Global Kitchen and any tweet ups they might have. love love love!
I always loved the idea of the time capsule. There’s one I mentioned at the 1939 World’s Fair site in Queens, not to be opened until 6939 AD. There’s the one in my parents’ back yard that I buried... Read more
A blue whale hanging from the ceiling, dinosaurs galore, and an awesome planetarium? What's not to love! Don't forget to get a treat afterward across the street at Shake Shack!

Love it. Awesome space for an event. Dancing under the giant whale was fun. Truly a fun place to go, sound sons time with nature. Kids will absolutely love the interactive space.
Their iPhone app is excellent. Great for navigation and locks your location in the museum pretty well. One of the best museum apps I’ve used for make the best of my visit.
Start from the top, with the dinosaurs, and work your way down. Don't miss the bottom floor, where they keep the giant blue whale and some of the most beautiful displays of forrest.
