Very busy during morning and evening rush hour due to the Financial District being located as the closest station, so beware of congestion during those peak times xx

The Palace Hotel is right outside of this station the entrance is right on market street the bar is the pied piper with an original painting by max field parish
At 5pm, the Dublin train is packed; take the train down to Powell, and catch it there. U may get a seat
Wanna seat? Figure out the train length, get to the front car. Or hop on the train the other way. Or leave work early! Montgomery gets packed during rush hour.

Some bart machines take credit card, some do not. Check on the machine - it'll have a sign taped onto it if it takes credit card.

Here and need to find a bathroom? Head to the nearby Crocker Galleria, or the Palace Hotel. Ignore the "guests only" sign, walk in like you belong, nobody will stop you. BART employee suggested this.
Don't tip the guy singing This Little Light of Mine or Stevie Wonder solos. If he wants to get paid he needs to bring his two friends and show us some harmonies.

Board near either end of the train for a better chance of getting a seat.
Go up the on the main floor and get yourself some Peets coffee before work! Come early or else the line is a b*tch!

Take the Post St exit if you are headed for Crocker Galleria
Take a GREEN pedicab ride along the Embarcadero to the wharf, Chinatown or to the AT&T Ball Park.
I used to stop at Embarcadero where, each morning, my nostrils were assaulted with the stench of stale piss. There's no piss smell here. Thanks, Montgomery!

Watch out for the Bart police, they shoot first, ask questions later.
Stand on the RIGHT side of the escalator. Walk on the LEFT.
Commute crowds start gathering at 4. If you can, leave work early to beat rush hour.
Turn off 3G on your phone if your data won't work underground in the station--that worked for me!

If you have a smart phone get the Bart app. The map and schedule features are lifesavers.
Just upstairs, Jeffrey's Toys is an amazing place to find gifts for young and old alike.
It's odd to say this about a train station, but there's usually a good musician playing around rush hour.
