- Andrea CampiApril 17, 2017Super impressed by this place. At first impression it looks like an old bar, all tarted up to look cool; it succeeds in a non imposing way. Go in a group and get the 1kg steak. Fish was perfect too
- Mela MelFebruary 7, 2016Good steak tartare, very tasty rock oysters. I had scallops for main and it tasted rather nice. Not a proper foodie venue per se but cool place where to enjoy your friends company with nice food.
- Wesley A'HarrahFebruary 19, 2018For oysters, go for the Fal Natives--bigger and tastier than either of the Rocks options. Starter, the smoked salmon 'HIX' cure with soda bread. Main, Picanha steak with bone marrow.
- Sex Drugs and Bacon Rolls Food BlogMay 5, 2013"We started with a dozen oysters that were served on a bed of ice. These were delicious and not a trace of norovirus in sight. For main course, we ordered the hanger steak with baked bone marrow." Read more
- Mary Ann CaramJanuary 7, 2015The basement bar is a welcome respite from the tourist carnage outside on the street. Great cocktail selection and friendly service.
- Gordon PayneJune 17, 2016Love the Hix Pale Ale. Treat yourself to the crackling with apple sauce. One of my favourite bars in London
- Tom SinclairOctober 6, 2012Food was just so so...not worth the price or noisy atmosphere. We did how ever share the dining room with Conan OBrian! He ordered the whole chicken for 4 and he and his wife finished it!
- Christina ForniDecember 20, 2014The cocktails here are absolutely amazing- especially the 'angel face' the bar staff are very entertaining and really know their stuff.
- Anna SolimanSeptember 8, 2013The bread is amazing. We ordered rare steak that put me in a coma. My friends are now eating the dessert that will ultimately kill them.
- Sunday lunch is amazing here. Beautiful beef with all the trimmings followed by an apple pie to die for.
- Brad MaysApril 17, 2013Good place to grab a rocks Manhattan. Watch out for the stuffed fox on the downstairs bar.
- Maria RuttoFebruary 27, 2014My choice was Burger which turned out to be dry.Price range for such food is a bit high.Nevertheless, apple tart was to die for!
- Doug MortonApril 22, 2016Lovely environment, food isn't spectacular but is served so. Great cocktails. As overpriced as any Soho venue. Would try again.
- Matt Ta-MinMarch 12, 2016Excellent cocktail bar downstairs. Comfortable sofas and really well mixed drinks.
- James MartinDecember 30, 2015Steak is very good here. Perfectly cooked. However, feel this place is overpriced, we didn't order a starter and had to wait 45 minutes for our main dish. No sign of a bread roll or a olive!
- The steak is brilliant. Pork cracking with apple sauce a must to munch on before the main event.
- Alex TomlinsonNovember 9, 2014Went for the brasserie. Beautiful burger and the steak was divine. Service lacked a bit sadly. The cocktail bar downstairs looked pretty impressive though.
- Evening StandardMay 14, 2012Mark Hix has played a leading role in the use of foraged ingredients. Here you may find chickweed, sea beets, rowan jelly — and, yes, sea buckthorn. Read more
- Daniele FiandacaOctober 5, 2013Never has a dish been as aptly named as 'Heaven and Earth'. Not to be missed (unless you are vegetarian of course)
- 10 Dollar ShakeOctober 13, 2011Fantastic range of infused gins behind the bar. Check out the bar snax menu also - sweetcorn fritters are delicious!
- Stella KapezanouOctober 16, 2015Dining bar is fine, heaven and earth delicious (as far as you don't know what's in there...)
- Maria RuttoFebruary 27, 2014Though i liked the downstairs bar, restaurant is not the best place to have dinner.'Ambience' is pleasant but food is weird.I suffered a problem of choice simply because I didnt like anything.
- Adam BurrowsAugust 1, 2013There's a very pleasant bar downstairs that wasn't packed on a Thursday night. This is a tip mostly for Thursday drinkers. #TGINF
- Amazing cocktails downstairs. The zombie has to be seen to be believed.
- The food is amazing, and all it is cracked up to be. This is stylish, understated dining - not cheap but worth it. Mark's Bar, downstairs also worth checking out.
- Tara LubonovichOctober 15, 2011Ask Antonio, the Sicilian bartender to make you something with vermouth... He's amazing!!
- Guy CorbetMarch 21, 2015A meat treat. Liver and bacon is how you would have liked your mum to make it
- Neil CrumpMay 8, 2010Went to dinner here - really great food (although they turn tables quickly so you have to eat fast) - amazinf installations hanging from the ceiling
- Jane JacksonDecember 17, 2017Expensive, bland food. We ordered prawn burgers (think fish cake in a bun) doesn’t work! Chips came about 5 mins later after asking 3 times. Nicely decorated venue but that’s the only plus I can say
- Cow PRFebruary 23, 2010have the lemon sole with clams. Drink Culross in the bar. Do not under any circumstances allow your female companion attempt to teach you the Cha-Cha in the bar
- Georgie PinningtonNovember 9, 2011Oysters were great, but the steak can sometimes be more charred than chargrilled
- RebFebruary 28, 2010Quite simply the best dirty martini's in London (off menu) delicious and innovatively served to keep them always ice cold
- The downstairs bar has an excellent cocktail list and superb service. Read more
- Henry SAugust 7, 2010The Monk's Alchemy is a fantastic summer drink. The fish dishes are outstanding.
- Gurmukh PanesarNovember 11, 2015Not the best food. Super salty, kinda overpriced and not very many healthy or veggie options. Nice restaurant tho. Avoid downstairs, noisy and pretentious.
