- Mark GahaganAugust 6, 2014The brewery (as most SD micros do) has a rotating tap of things you can't get at the store. The staff is helpful + friendly and the beers are always very good. They still experiment. ..good on them.
- As mentioned sculpin is a classic San Diego favorite. Any of the spicy version is serious ;).Try the black eye: (half black marlin + half big eye).Indra canundra is an exotic curry based beer. Try it!

- This location is closing sometime later this year. It’s not the original Ballast location, but it is the one that enabled their hyper-growth, & it still feels the most like a proper tasting room.

- Get a half pint. It is often an over pour and allows you to try more of the awesome beers
