- This is a great lake to exercise, walk, run, or people watch, walk or run with your dog. Just be warned, bikers think they're the only ones here so despite the laws, they will run you over gladly.
- I've been circumnavigating this lake since 1959, w/o supervision since 1962. It's just under 3 miles around, and the two bridges over the lagoons from Cedar & to Calhoun are great viewing spots.
- Great lake for running or walking. Watch for rude cyclists who own the road. Great dog park and plenty of spots for them to take a dip. Not as crowded as Lake Calhoun, no beaches.
- Nicole FolgateJune 19, 2018One of the prettiest lake walks nearby and not as busy as Calhoun. There's plenty of parking around the lake.
- This is the sunniest of the city lakes on the walking/running path. Be careful in summer sun. There is not as much shade. The bike path has a little more.
- The irregular shoreline makes for a more interesting "around the lake walk" than either Calhoun or Harriet. If you really want a hike, also walk around neighboring Cedar Lake.
- The old/real Lake of the Isles was incorrectly renamed to "Auto Value"
- Maggie MeyerJune 20, 2013I like running here more than Calhoun. It's less crowded and the windy paths make a routine workout feel like an adventure.
- Beautiful lake in the Chain of Lakes in Minneapolis. Rent a kayak or paddleboat and go exploring!

- Use the outer lane for biking and blading and the inner lane for walking and jogging please! Safety first!
- Way less crowded than Calhoun for biking and jogging. Less windy on the water too!
- If you must drive around the parkway at 15 MPH while gawking, have courtesy and pull over. Better yet, get out of your car and walk.
- Meet MinneapolisJune 12, 2012Canoe Lake of the Isles while admiring the beautiful houses along the shore.
- John E. ThompsonJune 1, 2011Water fountains at the south, west and north (next to the baseball field) ends of the lake.
- Abigail YeomansSeptember 18, 2011Go for a run, bike ride, or walk during sunset... there is just nothing better
- North Face is making a killing off these people! Apparently required for walking around these lakes. Zzzzzzzz.
- This is not a new lake. Why is Swarm deleting locations and then readding them?
- How is it possible for someone from New Prague to be the mayor of the isles?
- diana🐇June 5, 2019sit, relax, and enjoy the views then rent bikes at the nice ride dock between the two lakes and zoom around the lake
- great for jogging around and biking on the lake parkway
- Outdoor yoga at 7 on the east side of the lake - $5 suggested donation. It's wonderful!
