The sesame pancake with egg: a big wedge of oily, chewy, sesame-coated pancake gets split and filled with cucumbers, pickled carrots, cilantro, and a fried egg. Add a dose of soy sauce and hot sauce. Read more

Dumplings are now 4 for $1, not 5, but meh—still cheap. Go for their pork & chive dumplings and the Peking duck sesame pancake(!); pass on the shrimp dumplings, which also had cabbage. Btw, cash only.

$1 for 4 chive and pork dumplings (cheap!), you definitely can't beat that! They taste so good amidst the oil. Steamed prawn dumplings were too doughy. It's a hole in the wall, so very limited seats.

For just a buck, this pint-size dumpling den serves four pan-fried pot stickers. The plump, hand-made wrapper—chewy with crisp, griddle-pressed edges—is folded around a juicy pork-and-chive filling. Read more

This may look like a hole in the wall, but it has the most insane dumplings. They are cooked with perfectly crispy skin while maintaining that tiny bit of chew. We love the pork-fried dumplings!

Grab your pork dumplings and scallion pancakes and head around the block to the yellow public tables on Allen at Heston. Great in the summer but gorgeous in the fall with coloured leaves. BYOB...!

The straight up wonton soup is fantastic - delicate skin and delicious filling. You'll drink all the broth afterward too, it is so good! The soy milk is hot and has no added sugar - very healthy!

Go for the $1 Pork & Chive Dumplings; they're phenomenal. Leave with a scallion pancake. The dumplings in soup are a good bet, too, as the soup is so easy-drinking. Perfect for a cold day.

The fried pork dumplings are the best on either coast. The peanut sauce noodles is also very good. Can't beat the price. No seating though. Walk a couple blocks west and eat at the park.

This place is really cheap. $1 for 5 dumplings. Makes you wonder what's in it! The place is tiny so best to get take out. Dumplings were juicy and crispy albeit quite oily. It's authentic enough.

8 stools line a ledge in the wall with people standing behind you ordering. But you know what? 5$ for 2 nice orders of homemade dumplings that rock. There's a reason it's busy. It's simple & great.

Yummy cheap eatery. 10 dumplings for $2 and that's filling. Boiled Chive pork dumplings & the scallion pancakes are delish. It's a hole-in-the-wall with very limited seating (seats like 5 ppl).

The best thing you can do with $1 - buy a carton of fried pork dumplings. With $2 you can get a mess of the equally excellent steamed dumplings! perfect for carbo loading before a bar crawl.
