- A great place to see international and national bands and acts live. The last couple of years the program got a bit cheesy. But still check the line up or you will miss that one great show!
- Melanie RapApril 23, 2015Great convert venue, small and cosy, you almost feel as though you are sat in The stage. Good acustics and free Wi-Fi!get a spot upstairs for a verter view!
- Shaun WestonNovember 22, 2015People will tell you Paradiso is better, but Melkweg has its dirty charm, like watching Oliver Twist. We saw John Grant, who shone like a beacon, revealing lots of beardy recesses filled with beer.
- If you like loud music check out the calendar! Mostly punk/metal/hardcore concerts. Great place 👍
- Good for concerts, plenty of bars around the venue and a spacious upstairs area with a smoking room. Free wifi too ☺️
- MTVNovember 6, 2013De Melkweg – or Milky Way – has a long reputation as a live venue and will never let you down. A must-see on your night out in Amsterdam!
- Jain JosephNovember 13, 2017Very powerful club. Make sure you reach there nice and early to avoid disappointment. The techno tribe Tuesdays is the best one to attend.
- Party EarthOctober 27, 2012If you want an easygoing crowd, then Melkweg is the place for you, whether you see a band or not. That said, the ‘up-close and personal’ nature of the place makes any live show here worth seeing. Read more
- Acoustic is ok, not the best but not bad at all, but as it's a small place, be aware that crowd talking can get annoying sometimes as the bar is too close from the stage.
- Alejandra Ramos ValleNovember 8, 2014Diversity within the agenda. I behold a special place in my heart for this great venue. Supports newish artists. Only tip: work on the lighting on the stage, don't overuse it.
- Whether you're a rocker, hip-hopper or raver, there's always something to do here, for everyone's taste. Friendly and helpful staff and security. Coat check is quick and cheap.
- Love the small concert hall. The big (‘the max’) isn't too suitable for tiny people I'm afraid. 😩
- Come early when you go to a concert and make sure you are in front of the crowd. Otherwise you will hardly see a thing.
- Every show the sound is amazing! Really good venue for rock shows!
- In the "Oude zaal", make sure you're either in front or upstairs. It gets very hot underneeth the 2nd floor
- Great place for concerts and party's. Not too big, good acoustic.
- Mohammed ThibanAugust 13, 2016It was so nice place with awful music! The prices are high inside and I had to pay 20 euros as entrance fees!! If you like hip hop and R&P music, it's is not the right place
- FelipeAugust 25, 2013Is not my favourite venue in Amsterdam for a concert (the acoustic is pretty awful) but you can see great artist in here.
- citizenMMay 23, 2011Offers a program that unites five artisctic disciplines under one roof: dance/theatre, film, photography, and media art.
- Ludvig RudénSeptember 30, 2010Really nice venue, as already said always something great coming up of lots of different genres. Looking forward to a visit during upcoming ADE! Read more
- NickJuly 14, 2010Busiest on Thur--Sat, but check the website to see what’s happening every night. Big-name bands sometimes play earlier in the week. Check out website at
http://www.partyearth.com/amsterdam/melkweghttp - Go after the entrance to the right and go upstairs, you will find a nice little bar where you can have a nice chat.
- The Phantom Four & The ArguidoJanuary 30, 2011Whenever there's a surfband attending De Melkweg, our friends over there ask us to come and play. Did 8 shows there and are planning the next one for spring 2011. We love this place!
- Harriet SmitMarch 16, 2013Great concert of Jonathan Jerimia! Saw Jim last year in Paradiso and this time even better and the man himself: so relaxed! Perfect performance!
- Jessie SunfieldApril 5, 2014Make sure you take €4 for the "membership" to get in even though you already have a concert ticket.
- Spotted by Locals - city guides by localsNovember 17, 2011
- Malin BodinMarch 31, 2013I didn't like this place too much. In one room it was only Hiphop, not the good one and in the other room there was a bad coverband playing. But they sell awesome chicken sandwiches!
- Melkweg is more than a pop venue! Be sure to check out its theatre performances and photo exhibitions, or simply catch a movie.
- Great venue w/ lotsa cool bands visiting regularly. Having to pay for 'membership' is ridiculous and insulting, though.
