Cynthia DrescherApril 4, 2013In the middle of the Vondelpark is this cute, very casual cafe. I'd say 90% of the seating is outside, so plan for a nice day. Fresh mint tea comes with a cookie & is really ideal. Or, you know, BEER.
meganSeptember 3, 2017Great cafe in the middle of Vondelpark with breakfast, lunch, snacks, coffees and beer/wines. It was constructed in the 1930s and looks like a flying saucer. Definitely a local' spot.

Designed by brothers Baanders in 1937, ’t Blauwe Theehuis is a glorious example of functionalist architecture. Resembling a flying saucer – which looks like it has carefully negotiated the trees to land in the middle of the park – this café somehow feels like one of the city's best-kept secrets.
