The food is excellent. The service a tad slow and the meals are a bit pricey. It is located in a 100yr old building that housed a hardware store (hence the name) for many of those years. Worth a try.

Came for weekend brunch. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked! I had the red flannel Benedict, the Vashon breakfast is also a favorite. Try the sourdough and homemade raspberry jam!

The French toast is to die for. As a New York food snob this place lives up to having an incredible brunch. Also try the corned beef.

Oatmeal cakes breakfast wee unique. Order was large. I split them with my wife. Try Homemade donuts. They have an interesting egg bread taste

Their salads are delicious! I went not long after they first opened - The Hardware Store completely lived up to the massive amounts of hype it received. A great place to dine when you're on Vashon.

Finally, a real treat for Gluten-Free folk! While the price is not that economic, the atmosphere and GF choice vastly make up for it. Cool place!

Biscuits and gravy were not what I expected. They were lighter, more flavorful and freaking delicious.

I was honestly disappointed. The food was decent, but didn't live up to the hype. Very small menu. Pretty massive wine list though. For my money, I'd rather go to Anthony's at Point Defiance.
