An amazing restoration project underway to remove 130 years of grime & pollutants, and structurally restore the stone construction. Beautiful work so far. And then, there are the services…spiritual.

Lit up with candles that bring out the glass painting on its stained glass window and a grand stone alter, the place is absolutely beautiful with its Gothic style decorations and exquisite artwork.

I've visited this place for decades now. It's almost always under construction and doesn't compare to European churches, but is an awesome sight in downtown New York.

A really beautiful space! While there is a gift shop inside, keep in mind there’s a bigger and less crowded one across 51st.

Really loved both the interior and exterior of this Gothic style Catholic church. Despite being a tourist drawer it has managed to keep solemnity in place during mass times.

My gam and grandpa met here in 1941. National Catholic Community Center hosted events for the Catholic youth to meet. Gam was playing checkers. Grandpa saw her and said "I'm gonna marry that girl."

Entering here gave me the chills on how holy one can feel. If you can get the souvenir coins for $4, go for them. There's St. Michael, Mother Mary, St. Patrick, Mother Teresa, & Pope John Paul II.

Look at the statue of a toddler Jesus holding the world in his hand (around back of the alter) & compare it with the statue of Atlas holding the world on his back outside, directly across the street.
