The single upper-level elevator to the street (right by the turnstiles) moves as slow as molasses. But it's still a lot faster than walking, which requires two long escalators.

Stay to the right on stairs and escalators to let people by. It's common courtesy at train stations and airports.. If you block people from passing, you'll cause many to miss their connecting trains.

Out of all the main train station hubs in the metro area, this is the most difficult one to navigate. You have to go upstairs to go downstairs to go back upstairs to get to your train.

Clean, crowded and no healthy food options. Stay on the right when on escalators and allow people to move on your left if in a hurry

Easy way to get from New Jersey to NY Penn Station. Visiting NYC? Think about staying on the NJ side near the station Take the $8.50 round trip train to NYC each day. Saves a bundle on the hotel.

Consistently the most piss-soaked station in all the land. An impressive feat.

Don't forget to take your train ticket with you. They make you use it to exit like in London. Only place I've seen do this in NJ.

You need to scan your ticket to exit upon arrival. Also a Dunkin Donuts, if you're into that.

Oh the smell you ask? That's just the Zombies in the swamp. No worries they don't ride NJ Transit. It's the living people in this station u need to worry about.

They could have built this abomination anywhere, but only in New Jersey could they get away with building a useless NJ Turnpike exit (15X) & a giant looping off/on ramp with it. Brilliant.

Stay to the right on the escalator to let cranky commuters pass. And don't stop at the top and bottom of the escalator there are people behind you! Happens at penn all the time.

Neat views of Amtrak trains rushing through from the upper level platform (if only some of them stopped); downside is, too many guys use that space as a urinal (thanks, jerks).

Welcome to Purgatory, where trains leave on time when you're running late, and leave late when you arrive early. Be prepared to wait a long time.

Stand on one side of the escalator. People do walk up, quit blocking them and MOVE...especially during Rush Hour!

If you're suffering from a bad break up or feeling pretty blue, their choice of music may make you want to jump in front of a train. Bring ear buds those days!

A nice station to transfer but in the middle of nowhere with limited food options and seating if you get stuck.

NJT Customer Service Reps can’t read their own rules and regulations. Now I have to call customer service on Monday. Hope they understand their own change of terminal polices.

Don't use NJ Transit schedule for connections, especially on weekends. If you can make an earlier train do it. Early trains don't get held and usually an hour before the next one.

Did you miss the gym this morning? Burn some calories by taking the stairs instead of the escalators when switching trains. It's a workout!

Going to pick-up or taxis? Kill 20 min by taking the elevator from concourse to street level. Alternatively, walk across the entire train station to end up below where you started.

Be careful of the taxis outside the stn. Most will try to add extra $ to the fare if you're not going far enough. Go with JJ Cab guys. They are the most decent and honest.

On a layover? If you have to pass through the gates to eat or use the restroom double check you're not going back to the same gate. If you are, ask an employee—if you don't, you might not get back.

Don't walk like a dummy. Just assume there is someone directly behind you, in a hurry, missing their train because of your lollygagging. MOVE OVER IF YOU AREN'T IN A HURRY.

You can put your ticket into the gate slot as soon as the person in front of you pulls hers/his out. No need to wait till they get thru the gate.

Awful. Expensive Parking. Rude workers. The USA used to be able to build railway structures like Grand Central Station that have class, this place looks like it was designed by an outsourced architect.
