Check out the view from the 10th floor! Large range of different artists, like Matisse, Monet, Salvador Dali, Marcel Duchamp and many more! Book store is great for books about art and graphic design.
Free admission. Head on over to Switch House for a 360-view of London. You can even take a peek at how the rich Londoners live at the adjacent ultra luxe condominiums. Privacy level: zero.
The building is amazing and it’s great to wander in and out of each gallery seeing such different types of art in very different forms. The setting is excellent too being located right by the Thames.
Spare good amount of time if you are a fan of contemporaryart because this place has a massive and great collection! Dont miss the temporary exhibitions, though visiting all will take more than a day
Great way to spend a couple of hours looking at the exhibits. Good gift shop too and on The Thames so always good to combine a visit with a walk along the river. Food and drink served too.
On level 3 of the Boiler House stack, there are balconies overlooking the RiverThames. Walk past the gift shops & you will find the doors out to scenic views of the waterfront
A premier institute for world classmodern art, including a robust portfolio of pop art. Don't forget to grab a cup of Earl Grey on the top floor and take in the stunning views.
Brilliant way to spend an afternoon or a full day. The views on the top floor are pretty good, too! (If you’re willing to wait for the lift, but it is free!)
Great building in itself, the artexhibitions aren't always good (sometimes not even art per se) - They don't seem to do any installaitons in the turbine hall any more.
building is amazing, views specially the 360 one from top floor. Check exhibits before you go sometimes they can be a little frustrating or too conceptual for some. 1 of my favorite museums in tow.
Diverse collection of contemporaryart displayed, plus it’s free entry! Some exhibitions are paid but you can see a lot for free. Make sure to go to the 10th floor for a fantastic view of the city
Beautifully designed museum with nice exhibitions. Some are free. Members get special prices on entries/merch. Easily accessible with a bus station, tube and taxis around
I would strongly advice to reserve one day in the weekdays if you want to do an exhibition, do the tour of the free displays. TIP : Do at least one of the 3 different free tours (12AM, 1PM, 2PM)
An amazing space that needs to be seen to be appreciated. Always something interesting to see and a nice part of town with plenty of other great things to see and do. Good shop as well.
Beware the large numbers of school groups during the middle of the day during the week! Still a fantastic gallery - The collection of surrealism works is superb, including Arp, Duchamp, Dali and more!
Went to see the infinity rooms and absolutely blown away. I always love the Tate Modern, it's always a place where I can destress and enjoy the arts and ambience.
A must-see if you're in London. The gift shops are fantastic and there are some mindblowing stuff in the free exhibitions too. They have oat milk in the bar and the coffee is excellent too.
Free entrance (with the exception of one or two exhibits). It is quite big so plan ahead. You can also enjoy the ride and cross the Millenium bridge ;)
The museum is pretty large and quite stunning against the backdrop of the Thames. Only 4 out of 10 floors was open probably due to post-lockdown; most of the exhibits focus on society and politics
Free admissions with suggested donations. Great way to spend a few hours looking at weird "art" housed in a interesting building. Note that special exhibitions require tickets.
The most visited modern art gallery in the world, Tate Modern features a vast collection of art and exhibitions of all shapes and sizes. Go to the bar at the top for a great view of London.
One of my favorite Museums in London. It's free (only need to pay for special exhibits) and has a great view of the bank from the cafe/balconies. Spend some time in the Rothko Room.
🆓Give at least a half day. Take a break at the cafe and ask if they have the red velvet cake 🙈👌🏻. See the Babel Tower installation(if still there) and read the explanation. 😻
Quite unique, way more modern than expected. Many of the exhibits involved multimedia and felt futuristic, plus lots of sculptures and large off-the-wall items!!! Huge space, esp with Blavatnik bldg
Even if you're not an art fan come and check out the amazing building. Great views from the cafe if you can get a seat and the main shop is worth a browse for gifts. Plus it's all free!
Rothko, Warhol, and you also get to see some of Picasso & Dali. Admission is free, and the gift shop has some really interesting art-related books that are definitely worth checking out.
Love this place, space, art. One of my favorite lunch spots in the Modern Cafe as the view is spectacular. You can walk across the Millennium bridge after your visit and tour St. Paul's Cathedral.
Free access in some areas with Picasso and Dali's paintings, between many other artists! Very nice place with beautiful architecture based on an old power station! Enjoy the view to Thamesriver too!
u have to go there for pump it new things about art..there are lots of young innovater artist/painter/performer's exhibitions.. the time pass very quickly and you can give a break on 7.th floor's cafe
If you miss the free guided tours, follow the exhibition "routes" already built into the layout of the rooms. Numbered introductions to each room tell you if you're on the right track.
Sitting on the banks of the RiverThames, it is Britain’s National Art Museum. It features an array of modern and contemporaryart and should be top of the list of any serious art enthusiast. Read more
My favourite in London. Permanent exhibition is free but paid ones are worth checking out. Major newspapers such as Financial Times do their reviews so keep an eye on those and pick one
Although I'm not much of a fan of contemporaryart, I enjoyed some of the works on display at Tate. Admission is free and the concentration of children is great at weekends.
Gerhard Richter, Lucian Freud, Mark Rothko, the Surrealists, the great spaces, Kandinsky, the Minimalists, the Warhol, the BOOKSHOP! 😍 Could go on forever.
Great museum with an incredible collection of modern art that you can visit for free. The architecture of the building itself is also worth the trip across the Thames.
If you have young children, the family adventure tour is well worth it. Choose from three adventures that take you to all four floors. Teaches children art appreciation without feeling like a lecture.
What a fantastic journey. What a treat! Picasso, Dali, Kandinsky, jasper, pollock, mark Rothko, man ray and more! Highly recommended for modern art lovers!!
It's difficult to remember how this old converted power station used to be before the Tate moved in in 2000, so successful has it been! One of the best view of the river, and some fab modern art too.
One of the best galleries in London with ever changing exhibitions. It's free and busy. The restaurant at the top floor is not as busy and offers a lovely view of the Thames.
