If you have time to faff about and are hungry, facing the departure boards on the main concourse look up and behind you for other places to eat than those at ground obvious eye level.

Euston is London’s oldest intercity railway terminus, opening in 1837 with a connection to Birmingham. The grand old Victorian building was replaced with the modern monstrosity in 1968.

A tip for Virgin, perhaps, improve platform designation so people do not have to block the atrium, craning necks, awaiting platform information before a mad swarm to fight their way onto their train?

Get your ticket/Oyster card ready BEFORE you reach the underground barrier instead of stopping and looking in your bag for it in front of it and blocking people in a hurry to get to their trains!

Stuck for a seat whilst waiting for your train? Look no further than the photobooths near to the left luggage. Very relaxed location and you will not be disturbed.

If you travel on Virgin trains & booked their First Class (only 2 fare classes) you can use the First Class lounge. Has coffee & power points!

Download the "train" application from App Store and sit outside and relax in the food and cafes venue while checking the time table of the trains.

For food avoid the fast food outside & walk 5 mins to Pasta Plus, 62 Eversholt St - excellent Italian restaurant & good prices (12% service charge added tho). If you want beer the Euston Tap is best

Ed's Diner is a great place to eat, it's just outside of the station. There's a nice variety of food places inside the station too. Avoid going to the toilet there, as it costs you 30p.

Head outside to the Euston Tap for great craft beers in a quirky building just outside Euston Station. Top tip!

Food choices pretty limited LEON upstairs best bet if you want healthy. Also the best place to watch the 7pm stampede from. 👍Euston Tap outside for your craft beers.

Sainsbury’s right outside the exit by the ticket office - cheaper and better range than the stores actually in the station

Euston at rush hour is like a scene from Dante's Inferno. I'd suggest starting your own rail company, with a nice quiet station, just to avoid it.

Getting a facelift but functional rather than beautiful. Walk through it and there are some decent branded eateries outside in case - pret, ed's, nandos, cafe rouge...as well as an M&s and Sainsburys

AMT is the only coffee shop in the station (as far as I know) that has fair trade and organic as standard. Tastes good too. See ethical consumer coffee shop rankings for more information.

Glad when it’s done up - oh and they ought to follow plane apps which text you platform numbers so you don’t have to get crushed on ten concourse.

You can easily travel to north west areas of London such as Kilburn, Queens Park and Wembley with the overground service to Watford junction, and avoid the tube!

The best breakfast is at Tge Bagel Factory outside. Or the ice cream milkshakes at Ed's 60's American diner are super tasty. And about 4000 calories!

The cheapest tea that can probably be had is this place is m&s at 2quid, delice de France is 2.20, upper crust at 2.25. Just an observation, one very bored morning here.

Have a pint at the Euston Tap before departing. The selection of real ale and continental beers on draught is superb! Bottle selection is good as well.

Look out for the wheeled suitcases. Some people have enabled cloaking devices on them, and the first thing you know about them when your face meets the tiled floor. Take care out there.

Cheap/quick food options are the sandwich/snack/drink meal deals from Boots on the main concourse and Sainsbury's (exit front and turn right). The rest is motorway services prices.
