McDonalds at the top floor above the checkin desks is reasonably priced, with nice view and occasionally available power plug outlets
A functional airport that serves its purpose and meets the requirements of frequent or other passengers. But it lacks the umf and architectural distinction many of its European counterparts possess.
Don't forget to pass by Τερκευλης to buy a τσουρέκι!!! Its located at the arrivals floor. ITS A MUST!!! My family in Portugal LOVE it!!!

Amaury JJune 26, 2017A bit far from the center of Athens, but amazing airport. Smooth checking in process, security was great, fast lines, free wifi, and water and bathrooms everywhere.
Metro/suburban railway station is in a different building across the airport. You'll need to walk for about 10 minutes to get to the trains.

One of the newest European airports - has anything you need and it’s not THAT far from the center of athens by taxi . Do make sure how much the taxi fare is before getting into one though.

There's a nice place with desserts at departures! Every time I come here, I definitely go there and get smth home! Also free wifi is a good point, it even works in the bus outside the Gate:D not bad:)- Athens airport is the perfect airport! Good size, fast security control, 1hr free wi-fi, Τερκευλης store on arrivals : ) good bars with Greek goodies!!!
Either you love it or love it even more. It's very calm and very clean. It's the diamond of airports. Very unusual in a good way!
It is beautiful and cozy but also a bit hard to navigate. Always remember, A gates for outside of EU/Schengen area, and B inside. Nice lounges, many shops, prices for Greek products are good.

Great places to get a quick coffee. Many shops before the security check and many restaurants where you can have your meal. Most of the restaurants and coffee shops in the airport are not expensive.
Newly renovated El.Vel. Looks good! Bravo! Note security has moved before the Duty Free shops plus newly installed boarding passes scanners😉

Free wifi! Check the museum upstairs! Plenty of things to do! Avoid it during night time since everything will be closed!

If you are heading to Athens center avoid taxi (40€ aprox). Take the subway which will take you directly to Syntagma square and the centre.

First thing you see when you land: water-cooler for everyone to use! 😊👌 Other than that it's a typical airport. Connection to metro is not very often and it takes about 45'-60' to the city centre.
