Beware, it’s sometimes better to board a train at Waverley if you can. Scotrail will sometimes decide at short notice to skip Haymarket if trains are too full leaving Waverley.

Buy coffee in the stall outside front of station, the cafeteria sludge like liquid on sale in the pumpkin shop is diarrhoea blow back.

No lift to platform one at the minute so consider going to Waverley station if you have a wheelchair, buggy or a load of luggage.

Avoid at rush hour. Filled with rude, unhappy business people who are ruthless when it comes to getting a seat. I've seen grannies knocked down!
