The best and cheapest place for sandwiches and baguettes is on the burger king side, right above platform 13. You'll spend half the money here than at the places in the wandelhalle.

Always super busy. But at least the stores are open on Sunday if you’re in a bind, including the Edeka super market.

The layout of the whole station is quite confusing. This includes the transition to the underground which is quite hidden.
FreshJuly 18, 2014if you are travelling in summer, drop by at Douglas to spray yourself with perfume thoroughly.... it will save u you a lot of nerves...
Save yourself some money and skip Starbucks. There is a little café in the food court which has great coffee for a very reasonable price.

There is an EDEKA open between 7-23, and lots of other shops and restaurants around
Cheapest way to travel in Lower Saxony is the Niedersachsen ticket at 26€ for 2 persons. Every additional person up 5 persons is +4€ each.

If you need to recharge your smartphone, go to KFC, they've got two sockets (just ask the staff where they are). If you want to eat something in the dead of night, the McDonalds is open 24 hours.
There is a nice self-service salad bar upstairs inside the supermarket Edeka.
Nice train station but on the weekends is packed, not very nice if you want to get something to eat there.
ZiziSeptember 7, 2019Most uncomfortable train station in Germany I went to in terms of beggars, alcoholics, junkies and even prostitution in the immediate vicinity.
The ellevators are only from one side of the platforms. Where the Rossman is.
Take care about the number and LETTER on platform . Sometimes there are 2 trains at the same track.

btw: Moin Moin does NOT mean "Good Morning", you can say it all day. If you want to feel and act like a local (like "senf" suggested), and if you are under 40, you might want to use "Moinsen" instead.
Starbucks is now inside the main station. Avoid the still water! 4€ for a 0,5l bottle...
