Had to line up on the pavement to get in but it was TOTALLY WORTH THE WAIT! The lamb curry is delicious and the Roti Canai truly is as good as everyone had told me. Highly recommended.
If you like it spicy, try the fish curry n ask for plain roti instead of the roti canai,Or you will just end up with a lot of curry. Must end your meal with the Roti bom accompanied with icecream!
Mee Goreng is pretty decent, just a shy of pure authenticity. Don't forget to squeeze the lime all over and ask for chilli sauce if you want some chilli kick dancing.
The coconut milkrice in Nasi Lemak and beef satay were less than ideal, but so far this has been the best Malay food I have ever had outside of Malaysia.
Awesome. Menu is small but really good. Service is lightning fast and all food arrives within 10 minutes of ordering. The drinks are excellent too. Never had anything I didn't like off the menu.
Mamak remains. The bastest. Have faith in the wisdom of random internet tips and stay away from the rotimurtabak. The plainest roti is the original and the best. Eggroti bats one down.
What is not good. Had almost all the menu and i still love going for a roti canai or planta with chicken curry followed by some satay sticks or even some fish curry.
Get there when it opens as a queue forms well before opening time! The roti planta and kari kambing are must orders!!! Avoid the beef satay which was tough and chewy!
A plate of roti- Ayam fried chicken and some teh tarik.... Heaven! You can't book here and the lines are long- so come here early e.g. 11:30am Organise your next hangout here using http://Chillwith.me
Go for the classic roti canai. Ayam goreng is their version of fried chicken, totally delicious! And top it off with ice Milo. One of the best restaurants in Sydney!
The famous Malasian restaurant in Sdyney. The long line but it is worth the time for waiting. The Roti tissue,a crispy and sweet roit with ice-cream,is the dessert that I recommendes.
Ridiculously good roti from @mamakrestaurant. Be ready to queue up no matter what time you go because you will be queueing up and I promise it won't be short.
Don't get shocked by the line outside if you are in twos they can probably seat you easier which means they'll take you out of the queue directly to your table after 5 min!
I am doomed. Now that I have found Mamak's bananaroti with ice-cream (roti pisang) I am doomed to fatness. And my wife is doomed to a life with a fat husband for as long as my... http://urbns.pn/3cAB
Sydney cult favorite with another in Chatswood. You'll queue but it's worth it. Roti's light and fluffy and they serve Milo with canned milk. Oh Malaysia, I miss you
The best malaysian I've had in Australia. They listened to me and are coming to melb. This will save me $$$ on flights. Try the lambNasi lemak and tea Tarik
Simply the best Malaysian roadside style food in Sydney. Get the Roti Canai (yes you have to eat it with your hands)and the Milo ais. Milo with condensed milk. Cheap as chips and BYO. Read more
Best roti in Australia, I always dine here when in Sydney. Well worth the wait & ordinary service. It's like dining in Malaysia but without the constant heatwave.
Mamak is an award winning Malaysian restaurant, with branches in Sydney and Melbourne. Named after the roadside stalls of Kuala Lumpur that peddle Indian Malay street food, Mamak is renown for authentic, bold and traditional flavours, with smart and friendly service.
