    This is a great museum. Cool range of exhibitions and talks. Also great cafe and restaurant. Plus the location is perfect for a true Manhattan experience.

    This museum is a gem! Don't miss the series of Thomas Cole paintings, Course of an Empire, tucked away on the 4th fl. surprisingly tech savvy with interactive displays + a great 18 min movie about NY!

    The more I see in NYC, the more I champion smaller museums. They tend to be more thoughtful & easier to navigate. The NYHS is a real hidden gem.Their ever changing exhibits are well-organized & unique

    So many fun artifacts and good information. Even with the main exhibit temporarily closed, the front hall and the movie alone are worth admission. The train exhibit is perfect for the holidays!

    Make sure you watch the 18-min movie New York Story on the first floor before you leave. BEST short movie about the city I've seen ever!!!

    There is not a whole lot here, exhibit-wise, as the main collection is currently closed. The lectures though are great. Also there is a bar and restaurant which is open even when the museum is closed

    Little New Yorkers is a super cute program for 3-6 year olds with stories, singing, and activities (like crafts!). It's on Tuesdays and Fridays at 3:30pm in the DiMenna Children's History Museum.

    There's an 18 minute movie on the history of New York that plays every half-hour. Don't miss it. We watched it twice, once on the way in and then again on the way out.
