- TingSeptember 26, 2016This iconic hotel offers grand views of the coast in its newer and taller Victory Wing. Free yoga, evening wine & canapés, all day tea and coffee etc, u will be spoilt. Suites also worth the splurge.
- Sherry OhFebruary 11, 2014If staying at Victory Anexe you have a choice of two breakfasts: light continental on the 6th floor or full buffet in Sarkies. Go for Sarkies in the morning and take your evening cocktail on 6th.
- Abdul .May 17, 2017If you are looking for hotel with state-of-the-art tech, or extremely flawless service, this is not for you. It is for you if you like theme hotels, plus it is one of the best in Penang.Upvoted Feb 3
- EddAugust 21, 2023The plus: iconic hotel, spacious rooms, comfortable bedding, good service, yummy CKT (b’fast buffet). The lows: dated (not the style), far from spotless, missing a certain charm, feels barebone/basic
- Sherry OhFebruary 11, 2014Take the complimentary yoga class every morning 8:30-9:30 (check with reception beforehand). Consider how much a yoga class costs these days; plus it can only do you good.
- Spacious, beautiful old-world style hotel with nice amenities. Love the balconies. Check to see which wing you are in!
- Mohd Asfiyak Md NasirJuly 27, 2015I found it Very classy & 5 star service hotel with friendly staff to assist us all the time. It was beyond our expectations & We would strongly recommend this hotel to our friends too..
- Shazlan SufianMarch 24, 2015Been here on several occasions. I love the old colonial style of the hotel. Service is good. The new wing rooms are still relatively new and is quite spacious.
- Arus AramyanJanuary 27, 2016A very pleasant, hulled place to relax and try their Teh Tarik. The staff is very friendly and accommodating!!!
- AikoDecember 25, 2018Nice rooms, especially huge on the heritage side. Lovely breakfast, get the noodles it’s the best!
- Rianto SoputroNovember 8, 2014Venue rooms, good view. We didn't stay so can't comment on the rooms but looking at the lobby and facilities it looks like they have nice rooms to stay too.
- Must try 1885, definitely worth for money although it's about pricy. Love all the rooms decoration and facilities. Love it !
- Mango FongDecember 13, 2015Very nice hotel with superb view.Great buffet lunch and value for money.Functiom ballroom is big, comfortable and nice.
- Hotel with a scenic view. Nice place for a high tea. Pretty pricey but worth it.
- adrian nOctober 18, 2015Spotty wifi but it's free! Works best in morning when hotel guests are still asleep. Good enough to check out apps though, so search and download "EasyConvo" on the app stores!
- Shukry ZawawiOctober 20, 2013This hotel provides great customer service, magnificent view from the room, nice room concept, and great facilities. Overall, it's great. Good job.
- Ivan NSeptember 12, 2015This grand hotel has similar style as Raffles Hotel in Singapore, dig in a bit history then you will know why.
- Idham IdrisAugust 22, 2015Absolutely amazing hotel in the heart of George Town. Colonial architecture coupled with great service by the staff.
- Nicky HaznickNovember 8, 2016..'bein' here is like you'd in colonial era..with awesome services and food dishes..one of few best hotels in penang aside shang'!..

- Joe LimApril 10, 2015First impression when entering the hotel is like I'm in the Raffles Hotel in Singapore! A very historical building!
- Henk JoustraApril 6, 2013The Victory Annexe is stunning! The decor is brilliant. The free food and drinks in the Planters Lounge is great!

- SuperJuly 13, 2015Beautiful hotel design. Good environment. The room is not very spacious. Quite tight with everything fit in. The tea taste average. But lot of variety.
- Breakfast buffet not great, dim sum feel like having dim sum in Thailand? Coffee made of cheap beans. Don't compare it to Mandarin Oriental of BKK.
- Kenny TeohFebruary 9, 2011The salmon sashimi is ok. But it's because they didn't prepare it, they just cut it. Please. If u think this buffet is worth the RM70 or RM100 at weekends, you need to go out of Pg a bit more n see.
- Andrew WoodMay 10, 2012An outstanding colonial c1885 hotel of a bye gone era with cool classic ambience. Great pool!
- yan lianaMarch 8, 2015Nice lunch buffet with lots of food to select..some desserts are nice..but some are not
- John BoothJuly 13, 2015Stay in the old colonial section feels like another world rather than the modern wing.
- Dinner buffet is better than lunch. Great choices and service.
- Anders HusaMarch 31, 2013They either need to train their staff better, or get new staff. A few hardly speak or understand English, some are inattentive and most seem young and inexperienced.
- 5 star hotel; amazing room with an amazing view of the beach.
- SebastianAugust 14, 2014The small cocktail bar has live music and decent drinks. Careful, the mint julep is good but tiny.
- Quality isn't as good as others, room service not very detailed, promised a daily fruits plater, but never replace daily? The cutlery never washed, banana peel still left on the plate.
- Krystal LauJanuary 14, 2014The buffet here is extraordinary. A splendid example of Western fine dining.
- Karynn. C ♥October 8, 2011Weekend buffet RM120++ international buffet include wine and beer, every Friday & Saturday
- bikzvithz B.November 19, 2010come here with your special one ! the sea side garden is marvelously romantic . the dinner served here is great ! :)
- Anisa HaddadSeptember 28, 2012Our room is beautiful and impressively large, but the buffet is very disappointing. The curry is brown glop and the whole desert offering was lackluster. Restaurant staff wasn't friendly either.
- Anhar ArshatAugust 25, 2013Sarkies Corner serves Ala-carte while Sarkies Annex serves buffet lunch and dinner!
