Janice GalliApril 11, 2016The Vegetarian Skillet was fabulous! I got the half portion, couldn't eat half of that. The hash browns were crispy on the outside, tender in the middle. A throwback to the diner days of the 50's.

Evan[Bu]July 22, 2011One of the best places for breakfast in Des Moines. Whatever you end up getting, be sure that it includes hashbrowns. Evan[Bu] recommends the bacon and sausage omelet. Wow, even the toast is tasty!
I have not had a bad breakfast. Great hash browns and tasty biscuits and gravy and excellent omelets. Can't go wrong.

The owners are nice and friendly and the food is great here and they know about my diet of no dairy.

Sabbath JacksonMarch 31, 2012Waveland's Mexi Best Skillet. It's delightful. Not pretty, not upscale, mediocre service and bad coffee. But I love it. LOVE it. Oh, and tiny - so be prepared to hang out and wait for a table.
Great loaded hash browns. Atmosphere reminds me of the 60's. All the politicos stop there when in Des Moines.- The cinnamon French toast is really good if you love things with cinnamon in them.

Cinnamon French toast is HEAVENLY!! Hot Chocolate with a shit ton of marshmallows makes any person happy! 😝😜
