The station car park (on the left as you exit the Metro) is one of the best places in the city to get a view of the Castle Keep.

If you need the toilet and you're going to board a train, use the ones past the ticket gates as the ones near the ticket office always stink and are usually not clean

Very good knowledgeable staff in the ticket office, but the service is a bit slow in the Burger King.

Stopping off for a quick half? Centurion Bar (just before the Metro entrance) usually has 3-4 decent ales. Or if you have longer try the Head of Steam, out of main exit across road to the right

Best coffee around the station is Pink Lane Coffee! outside the main station doors, across road and walk between greggs and subway! Excellent independent coffee shop!

From the station you can get to any place by walk. If you prefer by car, Budget taxi is perfect option.

Shame with recent redevelopments, there's still only one entrance and one narrow bridge linking all 12 Platform, all of which can get pretty congested when several full trains arrive simultaneously.

If you're catching a bus here, sometimes coaches park beside the stops which means you have to jump on the road to stop your bus. Life endangering but ultimately rewarding when you get to work on time

The pay by cash machine in the information centre now only accepts cards so if you are in a rush don't queue go to the right of the ticket gates and there is a pay by cash ticket machine hidden.
