My fav way to cross harbor when I hv time. No need to crowd with others and always a seat somewhere! Plus AC if you are on the upper deck. Great view, fast, and cheap. Why not!!

Check the Hong Kong maritime museum left of the clock tower, if facing the Central.

Still the best way to cross the harbour, especially at rush hour as the MTR gets insanely crowded. It is also a very relaxing ride.
Elaine LimApril 28, 2019It was a good experience to ride Hong Kong Star Ferry. It was loud and you smell its fumes. If you are lucky, you get to sit. If not, you have to stand.
No longer accepts coins since June - you must either use the Octopus IC card or get yourself a token at the vending machine before entering.

If taxi line is too long walk to Pier 4 and get a can there. Less busy, more cabs.

Nicest and cheapest way to cross the harbour. Not just for tourists.
Fare is $2.5 . Upper deck has air-con! But the view from lower deck is better.
