- Kaitlyn SassAugust 22, 2013I LOVE coming here and so does my dog! My only complaint is the people who come without dogs to lay out and then give you a dirty look when your pooch kicks sand on them. It's a dog beach!!
- Clean up after your self and your dogs. No fireworks please and no food in the fenced in area. Thank you
- Such a good place to bring the dogs. Always fun and for the most part all the other people and dogs are too!
- Shannon JeropkeOctober 21, 2021You need a Chicago Park district dog tag to user Chicago dog parks. You can get one for $10 from an approved veterinarian https://www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/parks-facilities/dog-friendly-areas

- Feel free to remind people that this is a DOG beach. If you don't want dogs chasing your soccer ball/frisbee go to the human beach - even if it's crowded. Please don't set up tents/grills here.
- Will MossAugust 7, 2014Great place to let the dogs out. Everyone is dog friendly, but come prepared to get wet from all the dog shaking.
- So much fun and so beautiful. Prepare to get wet as dogs splash by and shake off!
- Jeff BeckAugust 6, 2014Be careful if your dog is a runner (the beach is not 100% fence in), but it's a great dog beach
- Dana JensenMay 30, 2015Remarkably clean for a dog beach. All fenced off. Free parking nearby. So. Many. Dogs.
- Remember: food is actually NOT allowed in the dog beach area, not human or dog food. It's not a question of tempting dogs vs. controlling them -- it is simply against the park's rules! Check the link. Read more
- Pedigree BrandNovember 10, 2011A very large stretch of beach that can get crowded on weekends. The fencing may be down in places, so keep an eye on your dog.
- Lisa WMay 13, 2012DOG BEACH! The best. If you need an adorable puppy fix (especially if you don't own a pup) go here.
- Jane W.July 7, 2012Bring a lawn chair or plan to get dogs throwing sand in your face. What happens at the dog beach stays at the dog beach.
- I WALK DOGS ChicagoJune 30, 2014I WALK DOGS CHICAGO (Dog Walking and Overnight Care) on the North Side of Chicago check out our website at:
iwalkdogschicago.wix.com/iwalkdogschicago - Don't bring human food. If you do, be ware. Dogs may eat it! :)
- Jake SmithApril 16, 2013Come down here if you need a little joy in your life. Nothing quite like the sight of dogs having a great time together.
- ManbqueMarch 6, 2011Avoid the weekends in the summer. Lots of dogs without Dog Friendly Area tags. Plus it's packed.
- Go early on weekends. The afternoon group of owners don't take responsibility for their dogs.
- Ally D.August 7, 2011Awesome place for your dog to enjoy your company and play with other dogs.. To bad some owners can't control their dogs aggressiveness..
- Jon PliskeAugust 19, 2013While they do all have medical degrees, refrain from asking the dog-ters for medical advice while they are relaxing.
- Craig VodnikSeptember 6, 2015I heard the Ron Mexico hangs out here in disguise during football weekends.
- Clean-ups are the third Tuesday of the month, starting this Tuesday! 4-5.
- Dogs will steal your dogs toys. Some will be nice to bring it back. Smile.
- Kim TranchitaJuly 31, 2011Don't put anything on the ground (blanket, chair) it will get peed on. No water pooping. No aggressive or unsocialized dogs! Watch your dogs, be safe.
- Garlanda Freeze-PuzioJune 23, 2013I set up a tent and don't mind when other friendlies join us. Don't hate!
- DON'T BRING FOOD. Or be prepared to pay the consequences

- only go during the week, weekends are a nightmare for parking and personal space
- Get ball, throw into water. Have dog retrieve it. Enjoy the moment. Repeat.
- SaraMarch 17, 2010Take the pups to play at the beach, but dress warm: it feels 20 degrees cooler at the lakefront.
- Dogs are dogs. Don't get pissed when they piss on your stuff.
