If you take the ferry out, you only have an hour to explore, and the park rangers talk for most of that. So read up on the history beforehand and skip the talk. Very cool experience. Lots to explore.

Get there early to be sure you get a good seat on the boat. Fun boat ride around the harbor, they drop you off and give you time on the fort. The history talk is interesting.

Best to take the ferry from Patriot Point so you can also see a great naval museum. Also instead of walking around, its best to follow the ranger tour so you can learn the most from the experience

The red line on the SC flag pole shows how high the walls were. Be sure to see the original siege flag in the museum!

Welcome to Fort Sumter! - Do me a big favor and SAY HI to my buddy and park ranger JEFF JONES. He most likely gave the history speech. Tell him JASON PRATT told you to say hi. He'll dig that. Thanks!!
