- Leave just enough time to catch your train but not too much so that you're stay around waiting. It doesn't feel clean nor good for your health to loiter.
- The ticket office is an absolute fuck show. About 300m from the entrance, it has its own security check, & the workers aren’t helpful, even WITH speaking Mandarin. Pick up your tickets somewhere else.Upvoted Mar 31

- Since the creation of South and Hongqiao station, this one has essentially been left to its own devices. Everything about it, including the people; feels like you’ve stepped back in time 20 years.
- Dave McMarch 31, 2023You’re supposed to use your ID to exit, I don’t know why, but if you go over to the disabled door, the guy will let you out without waiting in the giant line for the ID reader.

- Kinda dumpy in 2024, and that intercom announcing the train departures is just pure noise pollution. Convenient to get to and from Jing’an district however.
- Modern-traditional architecture, central, well-equipped but crowded. Connected by metro, but navigation and peak times are challenging.
- Great fruit store. Easy for when you get the munchies on the train
- Joe LambertJuly 15, 2014If you commute, or take the G train often, ask about the 中铁银通卡. You can simply scan it to get on the G trains without buying a ticket, with some restrictions.
- Very comfortable station, so many things to eat you can buy inside! Love it
- Get one free bottle of drinking water while presenting your ticket at the entrance of waiting rooms.
- Crowded as well, but the Shanghai Metro station is very convenient, take line 1 to People's Square!
- Nick KFebruary 13, 2016Buy tickets online from "China Train" app and then easy exchange it into ticket at ticket counter. With foreign passport you can't use auto system to get ticket 😞

- If you're foreigner, you have to go ticket office(nearby 2nd gate) for buying a train ticket. You need to have passport.

- D' LuffyDecember 1, 2012Ticket booth for foreign (no national ID) people is about 200m from the station. Better have your proper ID (i.e. Passport), or else you can't buy a ticket.
- Worth have a smart phone with data plan enabling the use of Google translate for the purpose of purchasing train tickets
- If you have heavy luggages and still don't have tickets, just forget about this station and go to Honqiao!
- Don't trust anybody offering to help you. This place is scammer heaven.
