- Adam StallmanSeptember 24, 2016Even if you don't plan to eat here you have to stop in to enjoy some tea and popovers outside with the view of Jordan Pond in the background.
- Jasmine 💫July 7, 2018History dates back to the 1920’s as a “humble restaurant” for wealthy families from Boston and NY. Back then, you got two popovers with tea for $1.90. Today, it’s $8 😳 ... still worth a stopover 😏🍽
- Christina CollucciJuly 2, 2014For a cheaper option, you can either BYO snacks or "grab & go" at the restaurant & picnic on their chairs or on a blanket under a tree on the back lawn with a view of Jordan Pond & Bubble Mountains :)
- KaitlinJune 12, 2022Park here in the morning when spots are plentiful. Hike Pond Path to Bubble Rock and back, then continue around the pond. This avoids parking issues at Bubbles lot and here; plus, popovers at the end!
- Hal MackinsAugust 21, 2016Like everyone else, came for the popovers (didn't disappoint) but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rest of the menu. The turkey club was great, for instance: fresh, thick-sliced turkey!
- Arjun BalajiMay 25, 2015The great part about being in the middle of nowhere is that you can stumble on something that's native and world-class. Get a popover here, with Maine strawberry jam and butter. Perfection.
- Alexandra PayneOctober 9, 2015Skip the "seafood chowder" (both my husband and I's was more like "potato chowder") and order the Specialty Beverage and Popovers. 2 popovers (delicious) and house made - daily - lemonade. 👍🏼👍🏼
- Rory ParnessJuly 13, 2014Hike around the pond, climb up to Bubble Rock then stop in for lunch. Sit outside for a great view of the pond and Bubble Mountains
- Ron JeramiahAugust 16, 2018Great place for a meal with good food! Had the Lobster Role and BLTT which were great. Be sure to sit outside!!!
- Melissa EAugust 17, 2014Beautiful view! Enjoy a popover with fresh jam but expect a long wait. Also, zero cell phone reception so meeting up after a bike ride or hike is tricky
- BeccaSeptember 19, 2017Afternoon Tea has a limited menu but exceptionally fast service. Popover and seafood chowder were excellent.
- Jasmine 💫July 7, 2018No reservations? Stop by the check-in desk to get on the waitlist. Both indoor and outdoor dining available. Great views all around.
- N. S.May 31, 2021If you want to get in to the restaurant, you’ll need to get a parking space - if you want to get a parking space, you literally need to show up two hours before they open. The wait is no joke.
- Brendan RastetterAugust 19, 2014Their creamy lobster stew is incredible and only gets better when you use the popovers as your spoons for each bite. Scrumptious!
- Dana VillmoreAugust 24, 2017Oh the popovers are divine! Make sure you put the strawberry jam on them. Love their buffalo meatloaf, too.
- Phyllis BoxOctober 15, 2019Lovely afternoon here. Had hot tea & popovers in the restaurant. After walked off some calories hiking around the pond.
- Katherine ShawAugust 16, 2011the only restaurant officially in the park loop road. the popovers and strawberry jam are a mount desert island tradition, and the cranberry island salad is amazing
- Tea (or fresh lemonade) and popovers on the lawn outside are one of my favorite Acadia pleasures.
- E DennisAugust 23, 2013Reservations recommended, but they keep a lot of spots open for the wait list. Really wasn't THAT bad a wait and it was worth it!
- Victor CAugust 27, 2015The view is pleasant, the popovers are fresh & tasty, and it is a nice place to relax, but the rest of the food is painfully below average and overpriced. It is amusement park level price-to-quality.
- Evan Van OrdenJuly 16, 2015Beautiful place for lunch or dinner. Eat outside as long as the weather is clear.
- Gloria ChinAugust 13, 2015popovers <3!!! tons of local and sustainably sourced ingredients. very vegan friendly!
- Owen GriffithsJuly 18, 2018Outside seating is lovely, best popovers on MDI, lobster bisque was superb
- Predrag TomasevicOctober 4, 2012ask for blueberry jam instead of strawberry. the strawberry one is good, but the blueberry one is a blast :)
- Collin JP HongJuly 16, 2017They have very friendly staff and the popovers were good, but the lobster stew was a bit watery and bland. I didn't like their risotto either.
- Make a reservation as it gets crazy and try the lobster stew with popovers! Expensive but fabulous
- Nancy D.August 29, 2013Opens at 11:30 a.m. Get there by 11 a.m. and wait... lessens the long wait and needing to make reservations.
- LilyAugust 21, 2015They've dropped the original strawberry jam they used to serve, but the popovers are still the star of the menu.
- Rachel LAugust 26, 2020Kind of overhyped and not worth the line. Eating a popover on the patio with blueberry lemonade was enjoyable though
- Amol KJune 18, 2015Came for afternoon tea. The popover and lemonade cocktail I had were alright, not amazing.
- Chase KlingamanAugust 31, 2015First time ever having popovers...so I guess starting at a legendary popover restaurant wasn't too shabby.
- Richard RevillaOctober 10, 2019Really disappointed in the service and the food. I'd skip the wait and the experience way too pricey.
- State Twenty-ThreeSeptember 26, 2010Be certain to make a reservation and get a window seat. The view is simply amazing!
- The poppers are amazing. For dessert you can have one filled with ice cream.
