Watch out for the beggars, scam artists and people who persist on the use of US dollars. Main square is amazing. Go to the water rafting office in the square 90 soles for the day and food - Bargain

Strategic city to plan lots of tours from. The main square is quite cozy and always alive. Definitely stroll through the city and catch its vibes!

Have been to Cusco twice and thoroughly enjoyed both myself. Lots to do and see. And of course, the gateway to Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain.

There is a Starbucks with wifi at the main square (plaza). If you do not want to spent a lot of money for Machu Picchu reasearch Choquequirao. A lot of tour operators offer it as well.

DON'T buy the tour to Machu Picchu with the WAYANAY company, they don't give you what they offer, it's a fraud!

Don't trust google maps for directions on the iPhone. I was using it to walk around and many destinations are not where it is exactly. The locations are slightly off. Sometimes by a few blocks.

Try the Tequenos - Enjoyed the lomo more than the ají de gallina. Very well cooked, though -- crunchy exterior.

Gente simpática e sempre disposta a ajudar.
