You might have to wait in a long line, but this sufficiently juicy patty tucked into the lightly crisped bun is (fairly) fast food that pays a compliment to the genre. For dessert, pick the Monu-Mint. Read more
When not in the mood for the burger, opt for ShackMeister Dog™ topped with Shack cheddar & American cheese sauce and crispy ShackMeister Ale-marinated shallots along with a PeachLemonade.
What isn't good here is a better question. I have yet to find something on the menu that isn't perfectly done and Very tasty. These guys know their stuff. I especially like the fries!
You don't have to be a Meat Lover to eat at Shake Shack... Cheese fries, shroom burger, and a beer. Such a great meal. Also, try the chicken sausage, it's really good!
Tip from Washingtonian: get the Shackburger. American cheese, Martin's potato rolls, green leaf lettuce, pickles, and mayonnaisey ShackSauce are all these just-greasy-enough burgers need
AMAZING burgers! Make sure you get a double & grab a shake or concrete as well. Fries are just okay but the rest of it is well worth it - think east coast version of In N Out
The names says it all - It's all about the shakes. You can do a combination of flavors, but I recommend trying coffee, mixed with vanilla. It is quite magical.
Cheese fries with homemade cheese sauce and thick "Concretes" are milk shakes with candy, hot fudge & other goodness mixed in. Their Mon-u-mint Concrete is a mint-chocolate crazy-good concoction.
I first went to Shake Shack in New York. The place is magical! The food is so high quality but none of that is lost in translation with secondary locations. I stand by the 'Shroom burger.
High quality burgers, however those who enjoy beefier less fine-grounded patties topped with sliced melted cheese instead of cheese goo should go elsewhere (like Black and Orange next door).
Desserts here are built around frozen custard. It’s blended into killer shakes and “concretes,” a blend of custard and traditional ice-cream toppings such as hot fudge and cookie dough.
There’s only one on the menu you should order: the Double Shack Burger: two Pat LaFrieda beef patties, American cheese, lettuce, tomato & ShackSauce. It's a greasy, gooey cheesy ball of beefy delight. Read more
Meat runs from a signature black angus (single or double) in their secret "ShackSauce" (which reportedly contains everything from paprika to kosherdill pickles). Read more
Yummy burgers but don't expect big portions. The fries are not my fav (unless u like frozen crinkled fries) but simple is best here. Go with a (double) cheeseburger. The shakes are not special.
When ordering food and a custard, ask them to put a hold on the custard & save your receipt. You can pick up your custard after you eat so it's not all melted!
i know it's a NY import, but it's honestly one of the best burgers in DC. i go simple – cheeseburger with shack sauce – and am never disappointed! all that flavor!
Great food. The shroom burger is really tasty. But the service here is so disappointing. Danny Meyer would be heartbroken if he saw how unfriendly and slow the staff can be.
: This place is doing it right. They have five burgers, and they're all nearing best-in-town status. Their shakes make you instantly unable to process another McDonalds oil slick. Read more
When I had my 1st taste, it was love at 1st greasy bite. There’s no other burger that makes me crave it as much as a ShackBurger does. The beef. The bun. The cheese. The grease. It’s just so damn good Read more
This Shake Shack seriously has the best customer service in the world! One time they mixed up my order and the manager taxied to my apt to bring me the correct order.
I don’t know why but my experience here was awful. Neither fries nor the burger was good! Salty and greasy meat and it was also kind of burnt. Fries was not crispy or tasty. Disappointing.
