- SandyApril 21, 2013I highly recommend applying for the SENTRI pass. It took 3 minutes to pass through the lane today. Worth every penny!
- Megan MastersJanuary 3, 2018An experience all Americans should take in. The crossing took up 45 minutes at 9 am on a Sunday and had us surrounded by sales folks, handicapped and religious groups.Upvoted 1 day ago
- Trevor GerzenAugust 28, 2018My wife says, “Always go to the left”. For some reason the lines are less. So if you don’t have SENTRI stay to the left.
- Sergio C.December 24, 2013Bring your patience and use the bathroom before getting in line. The wait can be four hours for cars and two hours for pedestrians.
- Jennifer HuntleyJuly 4, 2019From San Diego, take the public Trolley ($5 day pass) to San Ysidro and walk through the border crossing. Much easier, faster, and less expensive than driving, even if you park on the US side to walk.
- My very 1st international border crossing by land. A 2hrs wait inside the car was a never ending crawl of vehicles trying to enter the US. If I can only buy & eat what the food vendors were selling.
- Sentra lanes are on the farthest right, and you have to use the most eastern entrance to reach it
- It is worth spending thirty dollars for the card with your passport so you can get into the readylane which is much quicker then the genera public.
- Best times to cross are at noon and five pm on everyday. All holidays are easy no line and when it rains no one crosses!
- Sasha PettusNovember 6, 2012Dont always trust the people that charge 5 dlls to cross in a van, it might take longer than actually walking across
- If you buy churros get them from 'La Pulga'; he's located right under the bridge on your right hand side.
- Your wait time to cross into the U.S. by car will be dramatically lessened if you have your passport card.
- M RMay 30, 2015Do you cross the border often? If so you may qualify for a Sentri pass. Just make sure you meet the requirements before applying online.
- Don't get stuck in a sentri lane. $5k fine and\or car impound. Nav sent us there, need better signage before the concrete barriers that prevent you from turning around.
- Phil WilsonJuly 12, 2013'Ready line' (sign is only at front of line where turnstile is T) says citizens, residents and sentri card peeps can go through fast track line. Beware ; sign is only apparent at front of line! 😁😣👎
- Michiko ForteOctober 12, 2015It was a 1 hour wait around 3 pm on a Sunday. Vendors with churros, last minute souvenirs and snacks all around.
- Andrew COctober 22, 2016Walk across, or lane split to the front of the line on a scooter/motorcycle. Anything but a car.
- Brian IbarraNovember 16, 2014Whether on foot or in car or bus be prepared to wait awhile and might as well buy something from the vendors

- The only place in North America where you can stand in one country and piss in another country!
- Nana AJanuary 26, 2016Get in the Ready Lane regardless of passport situation. Do not take a "taxi"/van to the border. You don't save much time.
- Danny DorkoJuly 12, 2014Do not fall for those $5 vans that say they take you to the front of the line. ITS A SCAM! just tough it out and wait in line.
- For frequent crossing get the Sentri card. It’s worth it!!
- Use your Global Entry for fast entry through the Sentri lanes
- Hit up the new bars and restaurants on Avenida Sexta (6th Avenue).
- The white and green or orange taxis (taxi libres) have the best rates.
- Today IT took me 45 minutes to cross in the $5 vans. The average in walking across was 1hr. 45. (I overheard the cbp)
- Warning: Even though the instructional video for ready lane shows using an RFID passport, passports are *not* accepted in Ready Lane.
- Use the entrance by Via de San Ysidro or San Ysidro Blvd.
- Have your green card ready. B.P. is always creeping.
