Station has a taxi rank with plenty of taxis just outside. a few coffee shops within the station. As a visitor don’t forget to grab a free city map from the boxes at entrance.
If your picking up tickets from the machine don't forget to go early as the machines are always breaking and there are normally long queues

The Bittern Line Rover ticket is great value for both the bittern Line and Coasthopper bus. You can't get it from the machines so leave plenty of time for queuing at the ticket office
If you've cycled to the station and left your lock at home, ask customer services. They have a hallway you can leave your bike in for the day :)

You won't get very far in the evening when it's dark so sign www.leavelater.info to call for later trains.- Loads of new tickets machines installed in foyer so no more issues collecting tickets in the morning. Awesome.

Love the milkshakes sold at the coffee place next to customer services. Expensive but nice- Friendly station and now has somewhere warm to wait that isn't a coffee shop. Toilets are past WH Smith's

Watch out for the extremely sad train spotters. Also the so called customer service hosts are rude and unhelpful.
