- The building is awesome and it's a great place to rest. The food and pastries are all amazing, but the coffee is all the typical third-wave light and sour variety.
- colin sJune 1, 2015Great macchiatos. I appreciate the little pallet cleansing glass of sparkling water offered with espressos and macchiatos, a refreshing reference to Italian coffee bars. Great place to buy beans too.Upvoted 2 weeks ago
- The old WC Morse building is a lovely space. I love the old school tiles and unique chandelier. Bonus: their espresso machine repair workbenches are out in the open. Get the New Orleans Ice Coffee!
- Adrian PhillipsMay 6, 2016Come here for the coffee, stay for the amazing space. The WC Morse building is beautifully restored and a great place to enjoy a coffee. It's an inspiring place to work, especially when it's quiet.
- Carter MooreMay 28, 2017Blue Bottle can be a bit expensive, but if you want a nice drink and a great atmosphere, I'd definitely recommend coming to this location early in the morning for an almond milk cappuccino.
- Love the building as much as the coffee. Get a made-to-order Belgian "gauf" and the step over to the espresso machine repair shop to geek out on the tinkering action.
- Kevin PrattMarch 8, 2015Mexican Oaxaca Oliva Gutierrez prepared as a Chemex pour has a delightful aroma and bright mouth of cherry and peanut. The body is captivating as it subtly sets in with roasted candied nut tone.
- Kevin PrattJune 2, 2014Brazil FAF Santa Clara Icatu Natural is a single origin that has a full body. Body fullness is due to the natural processing of the beans. Lemon sharp tones make rockyroad with cactus soil backdrop.
- The the single origin iced coffee here is pretty damn good, and they have an "oji style" iced coffee want to try next time, but the waffle they serve here is awesome yummy.
- Kevin PrattAugust 30, 2014Single origin drip coffee with the Rwanda Kirezi beans is bright and fruity of mouth with strong orange and lemon tones. The wet processing method gives the cup a clean taste and a low or mild body.
- Jonno SchmidtJanuary 10, 2016Phenomenal coffee shot. Everyone working there is so knowledgeable about their coffee. They even have free barista classes!
- Ashley MowreyDecember 31, 2015Huge space and the same lively service and consistently impeccable quality. This location has espresso machines for sale and a repair shop attached.
- Jay L.November 2, 2014Definitely the New Orleans iced and drip coffees with cream are worth stopping by. Not too much of a fan of cafes without WiFi
- Kevin PrattSeptember 20, 2014The single origin beans from Guatemala, Antigua Bella Vista, are for fans of big, bold coffees. Sweet corn aroma to a mouth-forward, clean toffee flavor and a small body oddly acidic without citrus.
- Kevin PrattSeptember 15, 2014Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Gelena Abaya Washed is a subtle African coffee with fruity aromatic quality. Light to mid roasting creates a flow bxn mouth and longer body. Deep, yet acidic- maple pomegranate.
- This is my favorite place for mochas. Not too sweet. No whip. Just dark chocolate, espresso and the right amount of milk
- Great spot, fast service. Food menu also still available during COVID. Outdoor seating removed and parking is sparse.
- Hooray for no WiFi otherwise despite the spectacular coffee in both choice and quality of bean and execution this absolutely beautiful space would be completely intolerable at peak hours.
- Kyle YoungblomAugust 19, 2014Cappuccino and a waffle for here, please. Seems like it might be stuffy at first, but generally a really friendly neighborhood vibe. Not a place to hang out, but a special treat.
- JeremyJune 3, 2017Airy and friendly. By far the best Blue Bottle location. Not a lot of seats though.
- The chocolate pudding is a heavenly pillow of mouthfeel, with a deep, unfettered chocolate flavor. And you can keep the cute little mason jar!
- A SwissJune 17, 2018Hey what’s the next update I wanna grab a coffee and then I’ll hit ya up! All my friends were good here! Oat capp blessings thanks!
- Paul MederosApril 16, 2017Great open space, perfect for a lazy weekend morning hangout with fam and friends.
- Gabriel M.October 5, 2020Our breakfast spot during our trip to Oakland! The pour over with oak milk and the overnight oats were my favorites.
- ultraviolet schneider-dwyerOctober 3, 2016very rich and high quality coffee and very aesthetically pleasing/calming atmosphere!
- Matt OpsahlAugust 19, 2014Wonderful old tiny building with white floor tiles and high ceilings. Delicious coffee and Belgian waffle. Minimal seats.
- Don't forget to try the chocolate cookie. It's sweet with a touch of sea salt for some yin-yangin' taste sensation.
- Steve-oJuly 22, 2019Beautiful industrial space, adequate seating, friendly service, predictably high prices... Why don't I like this place more?
- They'll play old school hip hop on Fridays. Add the caffeine, and you may find yourself doing a spontaneous running man
- Three Africans (hot/cold). NoLa iced coffee, cold brew, and mochas are delicious!
- Get the wafflgato (off-menu item) and make everyone else jealous 😏
- Ninon ™December 18, 2015the yogurt parfait is p bomb but honestly ur paying for the beautiful atmosphere
- Open & airy, with a touch of Auto Row vintage. And - oh yes - fine coffee and pastries!
- The lease was just signed, but the very early ETA is later this year.
http://insidescoopsf.sfgate.com/blog/2013/04/16/blue-bottle-coffee-inks-a-new-oakland-location-in-the-historic-w-c-morse-building/ - Beautiful location. They do espresso machine repair here as well.
- The Ethiopian single origin iced coffee they have right now is amazing.
- John KiechelFebruary 8, 2014It's nice (their interior) but crowded with not a lot of seating. The product is as expected. The rosemary shortbread would be my reason to return. Parking is scarce.
- JessicaFebruary 9, 2014Only the second time I've seen a coffee flight offered at a cafe. No wi-fi but baristas are nice!
- Granola with milk (they ran out of waffles), surprisingly satisfying and breakfasty.
- Tiffany KamMarch 9, 2014Flight of coffee! Iced Single origin is always a good call. So caffeinated right now
- Mike McLaughlinJuly 17, 2016Get the nut, berry, oat seed bar and a mango nectar juice for a healthy boost
- Not much in the way of food here (small tasty snacks), but the coffee is of course epic. Big, marble-y space but not a lot of seating.
- Mrs FunktafiedNovember 17, 2014At first I was afraid. The place looked so bland but the staff totally makes this spot hospitable . Everyone was very warm and I stay for awhile... No wifi though
