- Andrew WeberApril 27, 2015Absolutely worth the wait. Beef ribs and pork belly are fantastic, but I think everything is, actually. Bread pudding and banana pudding are excellent if you are looking for an exclamation point.
- Tasting TableAugust 5, 2014The real trick here is the beef rib. Sold by the piece and worth every penny of the $18/lb. price tag, it's a meaty masterpiece. Peppery bark gives way to meat slicked with perfectly rendered fat. Read more
- Local Houston MagazineApril 2, 2014This is one of the greatest BBQ places in Texas! The brisket & the beef ribs are fantastic! The potato salad is an absolute must try here & don't forget to save room for their delicious dessert! Read more
- Bobbie McLellanJune 22, 2017Beef ribs (best I've had) and Brisket (2nd best) hands down. Heads up that the beef ribs are huge!! Like forearm sized. So 1 rib will be about 1.5 lbs ~$33.
- Santos SolorzanoJanuary 8, 2016Worth the short wait. Went there on a Thursday at 11:30 AM, wait wasn't too bad. FYI, you don't have to get back in line once you're inside to order again. I'll let the photo do the talking!
- Ryan HandrahanJune 24, 2017Everyone talks about the beef ribs, and for good reason, perfect texture and a head rush of flavor. Just do it because otherwise you'd regret it!
- Steven PerryJuly 12, 2014Beef ribs beef ribs!!! A Must order!! We enjoyed it all from the pork ribs, brisket (both lean & fatty), sausage but the beef ribs are outstanding! Mac&cheese was great & we loved the bread pudding!!
- Mark CooperJanuary 24, 2017By far one of the best BBQ locations in the State of Texas. This is a place that must be put on your list for BBQ aficionados. Ronnie does this right and well worth the wait.
- Bobbie McLellanJuly 29, 2018The new sit down layout is great. Had a chance to get all the sides. Mac and cheese brisket and beef rib. Can’t go wrong.
- Darren Giles-BeyAugust 9, 2014Fella's let Killen's do the grilling and you play more golf. Ladies book a spa date and leave your dinner party meat entree to Killen's. The beef by the pound is delectably delicious. #dontmissit
- Mary Kay HardcastleApril 6, 2018Be prepared for a long wait, but: Best pulled pork ever, and I’ve had plenty. Excellent brisket. I even liked the slaw and I don’t like slaw. Save room for the bread pudding.
- travel4foodOctober 22, 2014Wasn't able to try the beef ribs and had the brisket, pork belly and sausage. All are good. Probably the best BBQ I've had on this Houston trip
- Val BraJune 17, 2015Everything is really good! Of course BBQ is delicious (served a little warm) but the sides are to die for (not served hot either).
- N PAugust 31, 2019For weekend lunch get there at 10:30 (opens at 11) for shorter line and getting a table. Creamed corn is a must. Pulled pork and sausage are great.
- Hakeem BilalMarch 7, 2016One of the best BBQ joints in the country. Brisket, ribs, turkey.... Look it's all good so just go ahead and order
- Christine HaMarch 1, 2016Beef ribs, burnt ends, extra moist brisket, creamed corn & any dessert are staples. Fried chicken on Sunday, chicken fried steak on Tuesday. Long lines. 🍖🍗
- Scott S.January 16, 2017Excellence in BBQ and sides. Brisket, ribs and pulled pork are exceptional. Creamed corn, baked beans, and bread pudding for dessert are a must!
- Kara MicheleNovember 29, 2017Brisket is incredible, beef ribs too. And the bread pudding, cream corn, and mashed potatoes just keep the standards mile high. So so delicious!
- Local Houston MagazineSeptember 25, 2013Ronnie Killen actually makes the sausage himself using brisket and pork loin with no filler. Definitely something you want to try! Read more
- FezJune 21, 2015Killens did not live up to my expectations. Pork ribs and briaket were cold. This is a big no-no for such a famous place. Quiantity was fair for the price. The corn was very good.
- Fall off the bone BBQ!!! heavy portions (doesn't look it but it is)...so good they usually run out of stuff between 3 and 5 pm then It's a wrap!! Highly recommend!
- Nicholas BanksJune 16, 2017Worth the wait on a weekend! You can get there 45 min early or wait in line for 45 min. Either choice you make, you win!
- Melissa HOctober 12, 2015The best damn BBQ ever! But unless you get here early be prepared to wait in line! We got here at around 11:30 and waited about an hour.
- Js BaldomaroOctober 8, 2015Avoid the long lines by going at around 1-2pm. Beef ribs was to die for. Tender meats, average sides, great flavors
- Brett BendeleJune 29, 2016Brisket is phenomenal! Get 2 pounds of it to take home so you can feast all week.
- Sherry YuOctober 20, 2014The Pulled Pork Sandwich with cole slaw was really yummy. Their pumpkin bread pudding was also delicious. Will come back again.
- Wild Bill MApril 14, 2017Everything is good. But, at least have a 2 meat combo plus sides. Oh, try the pickled onions. Bread pudding
- Marlene MorganAugust 5, 2016Although Killen's has a high rating, we have had better BBQ at other places; including Central BBQ down the street & Red River in Lg City.
- Eric PanNovember 9, 2015Go before it opens to line up if you want to make sure nothing runs out before you get it. Brisket and beef ribs on point.
- edith camposFebruary 17, 2015Hands down BEST BBQ! Long line outside, but it's definitely worth the wait. (Free beer while you wait)
- Rodger DodgerSeptember 2, 2019It is the fanciest BBQ joint I’ve ever been to - like a 5 star Michelin Rated - 5 Diamond type of BBQ joint. It was good though!
- Xander LeeJanuary 6, 2016I've never had so many delicious things on my plate at a barbecue place all at once before. If there's a bad choice here I sure didn't have it.
- Brian PAugust 9, 2017Brisket is excellent. Good sides too. I had the collards and the mac & cheese. Both very tasty.
- TJJuly 7, 2013Honestly, it is some of the best BBQ I've ever eaten. It's an amazingly inefficient system to get the BBQ but delicious!
- Kathryn AndersonMay 22, 2015Be prepared to wait but everything is great. On my first trip they had pumpkin spice bread pudding which was unbeatable.
- Jeffery de los SantosMay 5, 2017The brisket, pulled pork, pork belly . . . heck, all of the meats are delicious and succulent.
- Robyn MendezJuly 8, 2013Arrive early! The 'kitchen' opens at 11am. We showed at noon, waited 1hr 45mins and were some last people to get BBQ.
- Todd EllisonNovember 17, 2015Be prepared to stand in line, a while -t think Franklin's BBQ. A good Central TX style BBQ. They have draft beer for you as you wait in line. :-)
- TV Food MapsJune 23, 2015Check out Killen's Barbecue as it was featured on Top 5 Restaurants for Number 2 on the list - known for their amazing brisket. Read more
- Wil JeudyMay 8, 2014Get there early (10:15a). Order the brisket. Avoid Mac & cheese. Worth the trip.
- Julie NMay 3, 2014Beef ribs were amazing! Well seasoned, crispy outside and moist, fatty inside. Also, loved their creamed corn! Mac & cheese is yucky.
- Robert BordenMarch 14, 2014BBQ is decent but not as good as some in central Tx. Brisket cut too thick and even lean is fatty. Sausage not good at all. Turkey is pretty good. Overall not a place I will frequent due to the wait.
