- On Sunday nights, there's a Japanese pop-up. The Curry Ramen is delicious with chewy, al dente noodles, two big pieces of crispy fried chicken, and a thick, rich, brown curry broth. WinstonWanders.com
- BommyFebruary 27, 2016Found their groove. Seating is first-come, first-served. Dinner veggie burger is one of the best in sf: hearty and no frills. Fries are an extra $3.50 but worth it. Enjoy with a beer and all is good.
- Don't be fooled by the Brewery name, this place has cocktails. Excellent ones. "A Rope By His Sins" is a Mezcal take on an old fashioned. Get the burger, skip the fries and definitely get onion rings.
- WhiskeyAvengerJune 13, 2018Their menu schedule of what’s available sucks. But when you can,get the Black Sands Burger w/egg+bacon on it. It is heaven. Their beers are great too and will make a great accompaniment to the meal.
- Dave WhelanJanuary 10, 2016Here for weekend brunch? Get the Pumpkin Spiced French Toast. The pumpkin is subtle, but these are unexpectedly amazing. (No photo because I ate them so quickly.) Beer pairing: West Coast Black Ale.
- Paull YoungAugust 12, 2017Great place for a couple of nice beers with friends. Decent burgers & you can have them aussie style with a fried egg on top!
- Dig this spot. Good food. Good beer. Love the vision these guys have and am super happy / proud to have Black Sands up and running in the Lower Haight.
- BommySeptember 11, 2016Chill enough to come and sit at the bar with a book on a sunday later afternoon.
- Daniel GraysonJanuary 11, 2018Complex beer that’s tasty and still easy to drink: always a welcome addition to a good meal.
- BommyAugust 21, 2015Cool space with open kitchen. But beers have limited variety and no real vegetarian entree. Hopefully the menu will expand soon.
- Tommy LeepOctober 8, 2016Tasty light beers in addition to variety of IPAs. My go-to espresso machine on the block.
- Use the bathroom. It's awesome. Lights, curves, and reflections lend themselves to an amazing restroom experience
- Home brew shop is in the garage next door. Cole is super nice!
- Matt?? ???October 19, 2015Well curated but pricey beer list. If for no other reason, stop by and get a drink so you can try out the bathroom. You won't regret it.
- Tom CoatesJuly 28, 2018Stunningly good cocktails. My favorite in the area. Enjoy the beer all you want but the cocktails are *fine*
- Good easy burger that's not too heavy. Some special onion rings. The dark rye and saisons are also really good.
- Elizabeth BursteinMarch 31, 2017Delicious granola, macha latte, and the egg sandwich is good but a little chorizo heavy. Owner is super nice.
- Burger, beer, and cocktails are all excellent. The fingerling fries are the best fries I've had in the city.
- Flora ChengJune 8, 2017Came here for breakfast and the breakfast torta was great. You can ask them to skip the cheese if you'd like.
- Jason HegyessyAugust 16, 2015Good curated list of beers including their own brews.Simple but tasty food.
- Jose PalomaresJanuary 6, 2018The Black Sands burger is certainly amongst the top burgers in the city. Service is also friendly and quick
- Christopher BownsMarch 15, 2016The torta breakfast will save your life: chorizo and eggs on a delightful bun, there is nothing finer.
- Rob AtkinsonSeptember 17, 2017The kind of place that would be ruined by crowds if it were in a hipper area. Great burger and beer
- One of the best burgers in the city. Rotating beers are always great too.
- Emily KaneOctober 13, 2015The only thing better than the breakfast torta is the croque madame. Bring a friend so you can try it all.
- Amelia ManiOctober 28, 2017All the food is super tasty .... remember! Kitchen closes at 1:45 on weekends.
- Sam StokesOctober 3, 2016The King's Tide saison is tasty, and the infinite mirror effect in the bathroom is really cool!
- Melty cheesey smash burger in the style of In and Out.
- My favorite neighborhood spot. So many good memories, beers, brunches, and dinner. I’ll be so sad to see it go.
- Do not be afraid of the rice porridge for brunch...and for God's sake get the pork belly.
- Chuck RoslofDecember 9, 2015You can sit at a counter and watch the kitchen staff cook, if you're into that sort of thing.
- Sam H.November 21, 2015Cool scene and good drinks. They still seem to be getting into their groove in the food arena, though.
- Beer is good but food is hit and miss. The early menu was great but now it’s mostly generic bar food.
- Anthony AdamsMarch 30, 2016Still not quite sure what part of the "Taiwanese fried chicken" served with ranch, was Taiwanese...
