- RyanJune 26, 2015Paitan ramen, takoyaki *just* like in Japan, karaage chicken, honjuku eggs and totally delicious bamboo shoot tsukemono (pickles) in the broth. Just wonderful.
- Time Out ChicagoJanuary 18, 2018Takeya’s chewy egg noodles complement hunks of tender pork belly, making the Tokyo Classic shoyu. Wash it all down with smooth Japanese whiskey over ice or a classic, crisp Sapporo. Read more
- Marco GMay 8, 2016Traditional Ramen shop that has a chicken based broth. Try the Spicy Chicken Paitan Ramen and their Miso Bold & Spicy. Great looking place specially with the Japanese ally with the signage. Enjoy!
- Garrett JeffsJuly 1, 2021Great! One of the best in Chicago certainly. I had the shio ramen, the broth was light was light & there was a generous helping of pork. Pork buns & takoyaki were both top notch as well. A+
- Patrick BuggyOctober 21, 2016The signature here is an unconventional chicken broth (Japanese ramen is usually pork broth). I enjoyed the spicy version, it had some solid kick!
- MikeFebruary 12, 2016Not a bad spot, but seemed pricey to me for ramen, pork buns, and a beer. I enjoyed High Five a lot more (in the basement of Green Streat Meats). Deeper flavor, a lot spicier, a little cheaper.
- Melissa AuMarch 8, 2016This is the sister restaurant to wasabi in Logan square. Their ramen is chicken broth based by just as delicious.
- ben mNovember 9, 2017Miso bold & spicy then when people ask you how long you will be at the table, don’t ask them to bring water, they may be customers. Oops.
- Come for the ramen, stay for all the other goodies including Brussels sprouts and mini rice bowls
- Gyoza is delicious! Great service at the bar. Brussel sprout app is SO good.
- Manoj AmbalavananNovember 21, 2021Super cool spot - great ramen and apps, no reservations tho, but def worth it
- Blake J. GrahamApril 21, 2016Truly the best ramen in Chicago. Get the Miso Bold and Spicy and don't look back.
- Brittany WebbSeptember 15, 2015Pretty good though I've had better ramen at Stringz. Pork bao buns are delicious
- Noah ManionOctober 3, 2015Staff is kind of snooty, don't expect to be able to give your name before everyone is there. Ramen wasn't great either. Slurping Turtle had a much richer broth.
- Craig WattrusApril 4, 2019Ramen so so compared to other options. Buns were better but still felt thrown together. Service not bad but felt like they’d rather be doing something else.
- Chicken Paitan was good except for one thing: onions. Why put them on when they still taste raw?
