- Lake Murray is an awesome place to beat the summer heat! I love bring my kayak and laying out by the water. It also has the perfect trail for running when it cools down in the morning and afternoons

But there is no water out there so bring a bottle or two

A great place for bird watching. Don't forget your binoculars or camera.
Plan your walk/run between 7-8 pm. It is less crowded and it is much cooler in temperature.
Park outside the park near the Starbucks if you run in the late afternoon. Sign says they close the gates at sunset. Enjoy!

John GrahamFebruary 5, 2012Good shore access for fishing. There are some big Blue and Channel Catfish. Let the big ones go to fight again.
Give the geese some lettuce (even though there's signs saying not to feed the animals).
Very pretty park, lots of paved roads and paths so it's disabled-accessible.

The City of San Diego owned reservoir is popular for bicycling, jogging, walking, rollerblading and picnicking. Patrons can walk only as far as the dam gate (approximately 2.9 miles) and then must return.
