Such delicious comfort food. They also have a jazz lounge if you want to just grab a drink. Good for dates too!
Saturday night bands are top notch!
Great place to go before or after a Yoshi's gig. Kind of expensive for their portions, but very very good food.
Solid fried chicken dish.
Everything is amazing!! Monetta & David really know what they're doing!
Soul food = catfish != steak.
Great soul food. I had the shrimp hush puppies and fried chicken, both of which were delicious. A side of Mac n cheese is a must. Nice, relaxed dining room.
Get the fried chicken.
Shrimp & grits. Every time.
For an unusual, wonderful experience go for the gospel brunch on Sundays. The eggs Benedict are great. The grits are better.
Had my bday dinner. The food was amazing! Drinks were ok we only order cocktails but only one was very satisfying. Suitable for friends hangout. Enjoy the formal and classy atmosphere.
Great place for to have a cocktail or two in their lounge, or a nice dinner in the dining area. Cocktails ate great. If you're adventurous and like spicy, try the Feisty Blood Orange!
Shrimp and grits. Fantastic. Gospel brunch? Could be awful Disney-esque awkwardtown but is actually lovely and fun - just a small ensemble but quality music and a good weekend activity.
good southern comfort
Shrimp & grits, truffle Mac & Cheese and a fantastic band make for a perfect evening!

Food is pretty good. Brunch portions a bit small, but entertainment is good! Note: entertainment fee of $6 per person for gospel brunch added to your bill (It says on the menu)
I don't know why I haven't seen anyone mentioning the pork chop. It is divine. Coming from someone who is not crazy for pork.
Try the gospel brunch at 1300 on fillmore #sfchefs - Brunch with the ladies and music!!
Private Events-- yes! Weddings, holiday parties, bdays, dinners, lunches, to go...ask for the Director of Events, they have her card at the host stand.
We had a delicious dinner with Miller! It's Miller Time!!!
The scallops are amazing!
Peach Cobbler! Awesome.
The risotto is above average, but you can get better fried chicken at KFC.
Delicious complimentary corn bread with honey butter - hard not to fill up on this before the real meal arrives.
Two words: Mint Julep. Go on ahead and make that happen...
By far my fab restaurant in San Francisco
I'm actually across the street at the new Fillmore Park condos.
They just denied my newbie check in special for 1/2 off a cocktail, claiming it's only good at the bar, not the restaurant. I call bullshit.
Be sure to try the 80 Sips Challenge tasting menu March 19th-30th and rate the wines for a chance to win $500. www.bottlenotes.com/challenge
This place sucks. (food and service) save your money and calories and go somewhere else
You can't go wrong with their tender, juicy & flavorful fried chicken!
I want to come back here for a birthday gospel brunch.
Black excellence in effect. Amazing service and great live music
M-F HH 'til 7:30. 1/2 price select appetizers & $5 drinks. Relax in the Jazz lounge and enjoy the maple syrup braised rib sliders w/ fat fries.

Go for the BBQ shrimp and grits.
Try the slow braised maples short ribs, they are delicious. The shrimp hushpuppies are great!! To drink, have Patrick, the bartender make a Hennessey Side Car. They are the best.
Check out our 2006 cab sauv with the to-die-for short ribs: Almost too much goodness!
must get the fat fries
