The martini here is an unsung hero of the hip NYC mixology scene—big and dry, like Charles Grodin in drink form, it floats to you in a glass so capacious there ought to be a goldfish swimming in it. Read more

Ask your waiter about touring the spectacular hidden wine cellar in the basement, which was used to hide booze during Prohibition. It's this place's semi-secret gem.

The Wine Cellar Dinner Menu is reserved for private events in an intimate setting, and the resulting food-gasm is incomparable. Hackleback caviar, butter-poached lobster, sautéed duck breast, oh my!

More for the atmosphere and its legacy than its food. The Prawn for appetizer is good but nothing too special, and the Amish chicken is a little dry and very mediocre

Vegetarians should not shy away from this New York tradition. They have a very nice *on menu* vegie plate that doesn't feel like an afterthought. And thank the universe cocktails are still vegetarian.

It may be stuffy, but if old-school, Don Draper Manhattan is your thing, there's nowhere better. And much of the food is still quite good. At lunch, get three courses for $24.

Outstanding food and service. A fantastic and classic New York establishment that embraces the history of this city and the people who live here. And the burger really IS that good.

Food was ho-hum on Thanksgiving Day. One of my companions said their cafeteria food was better at prep school. Even the apple pie (not pumpkin - huh?) tasted like something from the grocery store.

The key to power lunching is landing the right table, the left section of the dining room is preferred and the right, known as “Siberia” to it’s regulars, is by no means coveted.
