Metal bar with a friendly, unpretentious atmosphere. Craft beers on tap, starting at around 50 RMB - recommend the Rogue and Dead Guy Ale. Cheaper beers (Tsingtao, Tiger, Asahi etc.) from 25 RMB.
The poutine is excellent, but only intermittent availability of legit cheese curds. Ask before ordering. Adding bacon is 10 RMB extra, but totally worth it. The owner (Lung) is a super cool CBC.
The dude that runs this place is a legend - get to know him as he cooks your 串儿. Recommend the lamb skewers (羊肉串儿), chicken hearts (鸡心), eggplant (茄子) and fried bread (馒头). He has cold beers too.

Excellent Xinjiang food and great atmosphere. Dancers are on the 1st and 3rd floors if you want some tableside entertainment. Recommend the lamb skewers, yoghurt, and the beef pilaf.
Closes at 10pm, this is no Orden-ary (eh?) bowling alley that stays open til late. Staff are, well, moody. Call ahead and book if there are going to be more than 4 of you. Still though, cheap & quiet
Check online beforehand for the weekly deals, as you can't get these in store and they're often great value. Cheers In has an excellent selection of imported beers, and they deliver them cold.
Great fish and chips, and more importantly, at prices that don't make you want to gouge your eyes out with a fork. GLO London: take note, you rip-off artists. Pacific cod and chips recommended. Yum.
Great burgers and steaks (even with the recent price hike which takes this place out of the 'great value' category). However, the service is poor, and this being Tianzifang, there are rats everywhere.
Weekend all you can drink deal is great value - 158 RMB for brunch and all you can drink on selected Belgian beers. Saturday and Sunday, 11:30am–4:30pm. Great outdoor terrace.
Ignore the other tips, this is still one of the best options in Shanghai to satisfy a craving for freshly baked pizza, though the sides are rarely worth it. Prices start at 119 RMB for the 16 incher.
