The Planetarium! Go early on a weekday. Don't go on a school holiday. When you arrive, go directly to the Planetarium and get your pass for the show.
Visit the living rooftop for an incredible view of the area.

Definitely check out the Rainforest and Planetarium. The Extreme Mammal exhibit is awesome, too. In the Africa exhibit pay attention to the background of the zebras. You'll get a neat surprise!
be sure to see the platypus exhibit. They are so fun to watch and they are truly more than just one of God's jokes when it comes to nature.
Go to the California Academy of Sciences and first check out the gigantic indoor greenhouse. Next visit the aquariums in the basement. Finally get some great snacks in the cafeteria.
Try and go on a weekday (totally pro if you or a friend are a member) and visit the rainforest exhibit.
Nightlife. Get there early or with a member so you can get a ticket to the planatarium. They disappear quickly. Amazing! And then grab a drink and walk around the aquarium.
Definitely check out the planetarium. It's not at all like the ones you went to as a kid.
find the vertical circular window on the aquarium, stand in the middle of it with your arms and legs stretched out in a SKA dancing pose, and have a friend take your photograph.
Nightlife! Every Thursday night: DJs, geeky lectures, and drinks... oh my! Where else can you get drunk and learn at the same time? ($10)
It's all about the leafy seadragons (seahorses that look like plants)... And peguins!!

The anti-deYoung, it is much easier to visit the California Academy of Sciences. The Rainforest exhibit and planetarium were the most impressive of the lot.
Don't miss the aquarium, natural history museum and planetarium! There is even an indoor rain forest and make sure to go all the way to the top to see the cool green roof.
Nightlife - so much better than the daytime
Nightlife is so much fun when you are with all your friends, you get to dance meet people and have a cocktail or two :)
