I absolutely die for the Razor Clams! No worries, if you can't get a table, Bar Jamon is right around the corner with a huge wine selection and charcuterie station. -Arnold Myint, Top Chef
Mario always gets it right but I am hooked on the tapas here and always make a stop when I am in NYC. -Susan Feniger, Top Chef
Have fried duck egg on asparagus, griddled razor clams, fantastic tripe. This is Spanish food from a bustling heaven, with wine to match.
Casa Mono, Mario Batali's cozy tapas joint near Union Square, is serving up small plate classics like, Pork Croquetas, Spanish Mackerel, and Razor Clams A La Plancha.
Make sure to speak to Ashley when choosing wine. She is passionate about Spanish wines, has cultivated a great list, and personally knows many of the producers. You are bound to try something unique!
Try the Jamon Iberico Ham and spot it on Foodspotting!
One Michelin star.
For a quality red, select from the Bierzo DO, based on the mencia grape variety (a relative of cabernet franc). These mid-weight wines exhibit earthy flavors of raspberry and candied cherry.
Try the Pork Croquettes W Pickled Radish And Collard Greens and spot it on Foodspotting!
sit in front of the kitchen...best view of the food being constructed if that tickles your fancy :)
Get the pumpkin goat cheese croquettes! And drink some red wine, obviously.
duck egg with mojama never fails

Holy grail of amazing Spanish small plate. I return for the Razor Clams, Foie Gras (best), Duck, Pulpo, Skirt Steak, Jamon Iberico. Arrive at 6PM to ensure seating. Fun: Cocks comb avail upon request
Fideos are amazing!
This place makes me believe unicorns and Santa Claus exist. Wow. Charcuterie, seared duck breast and pork meatballs made the stars align. This is placed in the top 1% of meals I've had in NYC.
Highly recommend the fideos, duck egg and skirt steak with the chocolate and hazelnut creation for dessert!
Razor clams + quail = epic
sit at the bar and watch the tapas masters earn their keep. my faves are the snapper crudo, soft shell crab bocadillo and pork belly with uni. also - great foursquare Special for Newbies.
Get. The. Rabbit. And the red wines from Gran Canaria are inexpensive, but good.
A Michelin star restaurant that plays the Black Keys? Just go.
Another Batali success - this tapas joint is up there as one of our favorites. We love just about everything here, but the razor clams and the pumpkin and goat cheese croquetas are must-orders!
Fried oysters with softiro & black paper crema// sardinas fritas!! Wonrfula;)
The skirt steak is good but you're not here to eat something safe, get something you've never had before instead.
Casa Mono serves the food of Catalunya, with an emphasis on traditional dishes like fideos and croquetas. Expect a packed crowd at Bar Jamon, where the charcuterie and wine are the thing.
I will definitely come here again! Takes me back to Spain!
Excellent razor clams and yellow fin tuna.
Excellent Spanish tapas dishes - razor clams, crispy pork belly, and pumpkin and goat cheese croquestas.
If your waiter is a sour prick, your meal will be less enjoyable. Since when does Tapas need to be ordered all at once? In this economy service should be paramount.

Razor clams are the way to go! and don't just get one, but two :p Don't come here hungry though, your pockets will feel it. It's tapa style...
Must have been an off night, lamp bone marrow and pork belly were very salty. But sweetbreads, goatcheese and pumpkin, and bread and tomato were great! Hostess told us twice we needed to be done by 8!
Food is great, but don'y tell the waiter you don't like chorizo or pork belly, he may deny you any kind of recommendation what so ever
Don't miss the lamb chops!
patatas bravas, steak with romesco and onion marmalade, duck egg with mojama, fideos. Mustigillo. Cava.
CHAR COOT ARY - must get this and thank me later.
It's a bit pricy 100$ for two people, but they have a bar right next to it 'bar jamon' that is much more affordable but is really small. The place is small and cozy, try the calamari and croquetas!
Substantial tapas and medium-sized entrées, done mostly “a la plancha” with unmistakably Catalan flavors; get the duck egg with mojama.
Pig ears dish is unforgettable :P crispy, and really well balanced w interesting twist of apple.
Great tapas. Sit at the kitchen bar for a good view of the preparation (and lots of tempting smells!)
Bay scallop ceviche with yuzu was incredible!
The best tapas are razor clams, house-made chorizo, spicy rabbit kebabs, piquillo peppers, pulpo, or fried duck egg. – Green Guide Editor
Do not leave without trying the razor clams. Garlicky deliciousness.
