Norwood TavernBar • Savannah, United States
Happy hour is 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday to Friday.
They have Cheerwine on their soda fountain. Only place that I know of in Savannah with soda fountain Cheerwine.
It's like one of those hibachi places in the food court at the mall. Rice and chicken but no vegetables are in the teriyaki chicken. OK, but I prefer Heiwa or Hirano's.
$6.00 lunch special available Monday through Friday includes a soft drink. It is served until it runs out, but it you call ahead, Deb will save an order for you. The roast pork and pot roast are good.
The pizza here is an excellent value. According to a Buffalo native that I spoke with recently, the chicken wings are the best that he's tried in Savannah.
The greens and macaroni & cheese are phenomenal. Get a MexiCoke with your order. It is the way the real thing used to be. My friend Blair recommends taking a bottle of the Skull Pop hot sauce home.
If you're solo, take a seat at the bar and chat with Lisa. She's the nicest bartender ever. Ever.
If you are coming from I-95 or the East in general, take Highway 80 west to Chestnut, take a left immediately before the intersection with Highway 80 East. You cannot enter City Hall directly from US
Stop in and have some tea when you return for the night.
Try the open-faced hot roast beef sandwich. If you get it with french fries you can make your own poutine.
If you like the lechon asado, try ordering the pork chunks. You pull them apart with your fork yourself, but I think that you end up with more food.
